    The Patriots signed Lang to the practice squad Tuesday. Lang was cut from the Seahawks' practice squad in mid-November and has not joined a team since. The tight end will bolster a Patriots tight-end room that has only three active players. If Hunter Henry, Austin Hooper or CJ Dippre were to go down, Lang would be a candidate for elevation to the active roster for Week 18 or a playoff game.

    The Seahawks cut Lang from the practice squad Tuesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Lang signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern back in April but failed to make the team out of training camp. He's also had a cup of coffee with the Patriots, spending two days on the team's practice squad last month.
