The Red Sox designated Dalbec for assignment Sunday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Dalbec has been with Triple-A Worcester since June 22. Since then, he has slashed .260/.345/.475 with 11 home runs, 43 RBI and a 36.9 percent strikeout rate across 249 plate appearances with Worcester. Dalbec has hit 47 home runs for the Red Sox over the past four seasons, and if he elects to move on from the organization, he should get interest from teams looking for a lefty-hitting first baseman.

Soderstrom (wrist) started at first base and played six innings in a rehab game for Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, going 0-for-3.
Soderstrom had the night off Friday after making his rehab-assignment debut as the designated hitter Thursday and slugging a two-run home run. The rookie took the important step of getting on the field Saturday, and he should continue ramping up his participation level in coming days with Las Vegas as he works to shake the rust from a near two-month layoff.

Vaughn went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox.
Vaughn opened the scoring with a first-inning homer. This was Vaughn's second multi-hit effort in the last three games, following a stretch in which he went 2-for-28 over eight contests. The first baseman is up to a .240/.295/.399 slash line with 17 homers, 62 RBI, 51 runs scored, 28 doubles and two stolen bases across 131 contests as one of the White Sox's top hitters this year.

Diaz led off the game with a 440-foot blast off Zach Eflin and later added an RBI single in the eighth frame. Over his past 10 games, the 33-year-old has tallied five multi-hit efforts while homering four times and driving in eight runs. On the season, he's batting .279 with 14 home runs, 64 RBI and 51 runs scored across 567 plate appearances.
