Niko Kavadas 1B | LAA
Angels' Niko Kavadas: Pops second homer
Kavadas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Dodgers.
Kavadas has gotten off to a slow start in his big-league career, hitting safely in just four of his first 13 games. He has two homers, one stolen base and four RBI so far, but he's also piled up 21 strikeouts. Kavadas looks to have settled into a platoon role at designated hitter, but that high strikeout rate could cost him playing time down the stretch even with the Angels in evaluation mode.

Nate Lowe 1B | TEX
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Rips three hits in win
Lowe went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Yankees.
Lowe has gone 11-for-30 (.367) over his last nine games, though he has just two extra-base hits and 10 strikeouts in that span. The first baseman hit just .211 in August, so it's good to see him find his swing again. Overall, he has a .258/.349/.375 slash line with 11 home runs, 51 RBI, 52 runs scored, 13 doubles and two stolen bases over 118 contests this season.

Josh Naylor 1B | CLE
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Naylor (back) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Kansas City.
Naylor had to be lifted from Tuesday's game with an acute back spasm and is considered day-to-day. With a team off day Thursday, he will hope to be back in there for Friday's series opener against the Dodgers. Kyle Manzardo will man first base Wednesday versus the Royals.

Jonathan Singleton 1B | HOU
Astros' Jon Singleton: On bench Wednesday
Singleton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Singleton started the previous two games but will sit Wednesday while in the midst of a 4-for-26 slump. Zach Dezenzo is manning first base and batting eighth versus Cincinnati righty Nick Martinez.

Vladimir Guerrero 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Four-hit effort in loss
Guerrero went 4-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 10-9 loss to the Phillies.
The first baseman led a 16-hit barrage for the Blue Jays and added his 28th homer of the season off Taijuan Walker in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough. Guerrero is once again one of the hottest hitters in the majors, racking up seven multi-hit performance over his last nine contests while slashing .500/.550/.806 over that stretch with five doubles, two home runs, eight runs and eight RBI.

Seth Brown RF | OAK
Athletics' Seth Brown: Homers as part of three-hit day
Brown went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.
Brown got the A's back level with a solo home run in the fourth and then supplied a walk-off single in the ninth off Trent Thornton. Over his last six starts, Brown has turned in five multi-hit games while racking up 10 RBI over that span. Since being brought back up to the majors July 11, he's slashing .320/.381/.557 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 15 runs and a 10:27 BB:K in 136 plate appearances.

Josh Naylor 1B | CLE
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Exits with acute back spasm
Naylor left Tuesday's game versus the Royals with an acute back spasm, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Naylor went 1-for-4 but exited in the eighth inning, with Jhonkensy Noel replacing him as a pinch runner and staying in the game at first base. Noel could see time at first base if Naylor is unable to play in Wednesday's series finale. Naylor has mostly avoided injuries this year, missing time with general soreness in late July.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: On bench Tuesday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.
The 33-year-old served as Tampa Bay's designated hitter the past two games after sitting out Saturday due to a knee issue. It hasn't been reported that Diaz has suffered a setback, but it's possible his knee still isn't 100 percent. Jonathan Aranda is receiving a start at first base Tuesday for the Rays.
-
Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Out against left-hander
Rizzo is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.
Rizzo started each of the first two games off the injured list against right-handers but will begin Tuesday's game on the bench as the Rangers send lefty Andrew Heaney to the hill. DJ LeMahieu will draw the start at first base Tuesday.
