    Rays' Yandy Diaz: Dealing with rib injury

    Diaz was removed from Tuesday's game against the Astros with left rib discomfort, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Diaz clubbed a two-run homer during the opening frame and ended up going 1-for-3 before being lifted during the seventh inning. The severity of the injury remains unclear, and the 30-year-old should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

    Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.

    Mountcastle tied up the score with a 400-footer against Chris Sale in the sixth inning. The Orioles would eventually score and take the lead for good in that same frame. Overall this season, Mountcastle has collected 32 long balls, including seven this month.

    Vaughn isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Reds.

    Vaughn had started each of the last five games, and he went 2-for-16 with two runs, two RBI and two walks. Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth.

    Mariners' Ty France: Perfect day at plate

    France went 4-for-4 with a double, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk in Monday's 13-3 win over the Athletics.

    France drilled an RBI double in the third inning and added a pair of RBI singles in the fourth and seventh frames. He's been on fire over the last 11 games, going 16-for-39 (.410) with 10 RBI and five extra-base hits. The 27-year-old infielder is slashing .295/.370/.450 with 72 RBI and 49 extra-base hits through 627 plate appearances.

    Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Knocks 24th homer of season

    Dalbec went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Yankees.

    Dalbec made things interesting in the ninth inning with a one-out homer off New York closer Aroldis Chapman that pulled the Red Sox to within two runs. It was the 24th homer of the year for Dalbec, who is slashing a terrific .290/.371/.694 in 19 September contests.

    Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Homers again in Baltimore

    Lowe went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Orioles.

    Lowe made it back-to-back nights with a homer when he took Dillon Tate on a ride out of Camden Yards in the ninth inning. After two middling seasons in Tampa Bay, Lowe broke out this year with the Rangers, knocking in 71 runs (and counting) and playing in nearly every game. Given that he just turned 26 in the middle of the season, the first baseman's career looks like it's on the upswing.

    Gurriel will sit Saturday against Oakland, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports

    Gurriel went hitless in both of his last two games, though that followed a 10-game stretch in which he hit .413 with eight multi-hit games. Marwin Gonzalez takes over at first base Saturday.

    Mariners' Ty France: Homers, plates three in win

    France went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 6-5 win over the Angels.

    France hit a solo shot in the first inning off Jose Suarez to put the Mariners on the board. In addition, he drove in a run in the third and seventh innings. He has just two long balls in his last 28 games, both coming in the past three days. The 26-year-old is slashing .293/.366/.449 with 18 home runs, 68 RBI and 78 runs scored in 614 plate appearances this season.

    Athletics' Matt Olson: Drives in four Friday

    Olson went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBI in Friday's 14-2 win over the Astros.

    Olson doubled off Seth Martinez in the eighth inning, knocking in three runs. It was his fourth game this season with four RBI and he is batting .302 with six homers in his last 14 games. The 27-year-old is slashing .274/.371/.549 with 38 long balls, 109 RBI and 99 runs scored in 638 plate appearances this season.

    Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Clubs homer in win

    Lowe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 8-5 win over Baltimore.

    The first baseman opened the scoring with a first-inning blast, his 16th homer of the year and his second through 21 September games. Lowe has maintained a decent .262/.356/.408 slash line through 609 plate appearances this year. He's added 70 RBI, 68 runs scored, seven stolen bases and 23 doubles in a near-everyday role in his first season with the Rangers.
