  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Cronenworth is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.

He is hitting .119 with one home run and two steals over his last 42 at-bats. Ha-Seong Kim will start at the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: On IL with strained hamstring

Calhoun was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.

He opened the year on the IL with a knee injury and will miss more time with a second notable injury this month. Daulton Varsho was recalled in a corresponding move.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Blue Jays' Rowdy Tellez: Demoted to alternate site

Tellez was optioned to the Blue Jays' alternate training site Wednesday.

Even with Tellez hitting .183 with one home run and a 15:2 K:BB in 60 at-bats, this is a bit of a surprise move. With George Springer limited to designated-hitter duties, the Jays are opting to keep Jonathan Davis on the active roster in the short term to maintain outfield depth.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Keeps knocking them in

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in a win over the Phillies on Tuesday, giving him six RBI over his last five contests.

Goldschmidt has been delivering with men on base all season, with Tuesday's pair of RBI pushing him into a three-way tie for second on the team with 13. The veteran is otherwise coming up empty frequently as evidenced by his .231/.271/.341 slash, but his timely hitting is tiding his fantasy managers over until he begins pulling those numbers much closer to his career norms.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Gets day off Wednesday

Bohm isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Bohm will be out of the lineup for the first time this season after he slashed .198/.242/.296 with two home runs, 12 RBI and two stolen bases to begin the year. Brad Miller will shift to third base while Nick Maton starts at the keystone.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Keeps hitting in loss

Olson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday.

Olson had experienced a rare, brief downturn at the plate over the last two games while going hitless in eight at-bats with four strikeouts. However, the slugging first baseman heated right back up Tuesday, racking up his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games, a stretch that includes four extra-base hits (two doubles, two home runs).

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

    Marlins' Garrett Cooper: X-rays negative

Cooper underwent X-rays on his left foot Wednesday that came back negative, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper fouled a ball off his left foot in the top of the fourth inning Wednesday and was replaced in the bottom half of the frame after he grounded out to end the inning. He's been diagnosed with left foot soreness and is considered day-to-day. The Marlins have a scheduled day off Thursday, so Cooper will have a day to recover prior to Friday's series opener in Washington.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Exits with apparent injury

Cooper was removed in the bottom of the fourth inning of Wednesday's game against the Brewers with an apparent injury, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper is likely dealing with a foot injury after fouling a ball off himself during his at-bat in the top of the fourth, according to Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com. He remained in the game initially and grounded out to end the inning, but he was spotted walking back to the dugout after the at-bat with a trainer by his side before being replaced by Magneuris Sierra in the next half inning. Expect Miami to provide an update on Cooper later Wednesday.

  • Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Sitting out in Pittsburgh

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh.

Since the Royals don't have the designated hitter available in Pittsburgh, O'Hearn will remained sidelined for the second straight day. Kansas City will resume American League play Friday in Minnesota, so O'Hearn should soon reclaim a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching.

  • Keston Hiura 2B | LAD

Brewers' Keston Hiura: Not starting Wednesday

Hiura isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Hiura will get a breather after he went 2-for-11 with a triple, one run and six strikeouts in the last three games. Daniel Vogelbach will take over at first base and bat second.
