  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Knocks in three runs Monday

Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with three RBI in a 10-3 win against the Angels on Monday.

Cronenworth notched an RBI single in the fourth inning, a sacrifice fly in the sixth and another RBI single in the seventh. His three RBI were as many as he had tallied over his previous 18 contests combined. The infielder slashed just .214/.271/.286 over 26 games in June, but he's started July on a better foot, going 3-for-8 with four RBI through three contests.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Taking seat Tuesday

Votto is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Nationals.

Votto broke a string of six games without a hit when he homered in Monday's win over the Nats, but he'll take a seat on Independence Day. Kevin Newman is playing first base and leading off.

  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

Royals' Nick Pratto: Goes deep Monday

Pratto went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI against Minnesota in Monday's loss.

Pratto tied the scored twice in the contest, notching an RBI single in the third inning and launching a solo shot to right field in the eighth. The first baseman batted out of the No. 3 hole in the order following a pair of games during which he hit cleanup. Pratto served as Kansas City's leadoff hitter for much of June, so he could see more opportunities to drive in runs if his move to the middle of the order remains in place. He's been only moderately productive on the season, slashing .261/.349/.415 with six homers, 26 RBI, 27 runs and one stolen base over 238 plate appearances.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Nursing wrist issue

Naylor is expected to undergo further evaluation on his right wrist Tuesday, P.J. Ziegler of Fox 8 reports.

Naylor appeared to be in discomfort while at the dish during Monday's game against Atlanta, but he managed to talk his way into staying in the contest after receiving a visit from his manager and the team trainer. After the game, skipper Terry Francona noted that Naylor will undergo imaging on his right wrist to determine the severity of the issue. The team should know more about his status moving forward once the scans come back.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Leading off Monday

Wade (back) is starting at first base and batting leadoff Monday against the Mariners.

Wade was held out of Sunday's series finale against the Mets while dealing with back discomfort, but the day off evidently helped him return to the starting nine. The Maryland product is slashing .276/.417/.310 with one double, two RBI and three runs scored over his last 10 games.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

Astros' Jose Abreu: Homer, four RBI in win

Abreu went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, four RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 12-11 victory over Texas.

Abreu blasted a three-run, 452-foot homer off Glenn Otto in the fourth inning before tying the game with an RBI double in the ninth. The homer was Abreu's seventh of the year, six of which have come in his previous 20 games. The veteran first-baseman has gone 15-for-41 (.366) with seven extra-base hits over his last 10 contests, boosting his slash line to .243/.292/.358 with 45 RBI and 28 runs scored through 342 plate appearances this season.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Not in Monday's lineup

France is absent from the lineup Monday in San Francisco, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

France was shaken up on a collision with the Rays' Isaac Paredes in Sunday's win, although he remained in the game and this is probably more a case of just giving him a day off. Mike Ford is at first base Monday.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: On bench against lefty

Kirilloff is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Kirilloff had started in both of the Twins' previous two matchups with southpaw starters, but he'll take a seat for the series opener with Kansas City while lefty Austin Cox takes the bump for the Royals. With Kirilloff and fellow lefty hitter Joey Gallo both on the bench Monday, Donovan Solano will start at first base while Willi Castro starts at the corner-outfield spot opposite Max Kepler.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Idle versus lefty

Tellez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

For the second straight day, the Brewers are facing a southpaw starter (Drew Smyly), so Tellez will once again find himself on the bench. Platoon mate Owen Miller will step in for Tellez at first base and bat cleanup.

  • Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Losing playing time

Montero went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Sunday against the Tigers.

Montero handled the everyday first base duties for the majority of the time that C.J. Cron was sidelined with a back injury. However, since Cron's return Tuesday, Montero has started only three of six games. He hasn't pushed for more playing time with his performance, as he has maintained only a .157/.167/.294 line while striking out at a 38.9 percent clip across 51 at-bats in the last calendar month.
