  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Homers twice Saturday

Olson went 3-for-9 with two home runs and four RBI across both games of Saturday's doubleheader against the Marlins.

Olson homered in each game of the doubleheader, bringing his total on the season to 24. He's now gone yard in three consecutive games and has at least one hit in eight of his last nine contests. For the season, Olson now has a .250/.337/.493 line across 505 plate appearances.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Flexes power in win

Wade went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored, a double and a walk in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Pirates.

Wade went yard off former Giant Tyler Beede in the third inning, which was the last run in this low-scoring contest. Through nine contests in August, Wade has gone 5-for-18 (.278), though all of those hits have gone for extra bases (three homers, two doubles). The 28-year-old's batting average reached .200 for the first time since July 7 with this multi-hit effort, and he's added a .759 OPS, six long balls, 18 RBI, 13 runs scored, four doubles and a triple through 120 plate appearances this year.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Resting Saturday

Pasquantino will sit Saturday against the Dodgers.

Pasquantino has had a near-everyday role since his promotion in late June. His .247/.331/.404 slash line is a merely good 109 wRC+, but his combination of a 14.5 percent strikeout rate and a 10.6 percent barrel rate suggests his numbers could improve going forward. Nick Pratto will be the first baseman Saturday while Brent Rooker serves as the designated hitter.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Not starting Saturday

Santana will sit Saturday against the Rangers.

Santana has gone cold at the plate recently, slashing .127/.206/.291 over his last 17 games. He'll sit for the third time in the last six games Saturday, with Mitch Haniger serving as the designated hitter.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Clubs 15th homer

Naylor went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 8-0 win over the Blue Jays.

Naylor capped off a five-run third inning with his homer, his first since July 27. He's still made decent contact lately, going 7-for-28 (.250) across his last seven contests, though it's led to just three RBI, one run and a stolen base. The 25-year-old has a .271/.321/.485 slash line with 15 homers, 56 RBI, 33 runs scored, three stolen bases and 17 doubles through 318 plate appearances while regularly hitting in the middle of the Guardians' order.

  • Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Drives in pair

Montero went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Montero has been in the lineup for 10 consecutive games at a combination of first and third base as well as at designated hitter. He's hit .368 in that span with a home run, six RBI and five runs scored. Though Montero may not have a consistent defensive position, the Rockies appear to be intent on giving him regular playing time down the stretch of the season.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Back in minors

Rivas was returned to Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Rivas was called up as the 27th man for Thursday's Field of Dreams Game against the Reds, but he'll head back to the minors following the matchup. Over 16 games in Iowa this year, he's slashed .344/.394/.508 with a home run, 11 runs and eight RBI.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Returns to lineup

Cooper (calf) is starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper didn't start Friday's series opener against Atlanta, but he appeared off the bench and went 0-for-1 with a strikeout. He'll start at first base and bat third during Saturday's matinee.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Homers in consecutive games

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-1 win over the Brewers.

Goldschmidt's first-inning blast was ultimately all the Cardinals needed for the win. For the month, the first baseman is cruising, going 12-for-34 (.353) with four homers, 11 RBI, nine runs scored and three doubles through 10 contests. He's quickly closing in on another 30-homer campaign -- Goldschmidt had 28 this year, putting him a realistic position to challenge his career high of 36. He's added a .331/.414/.619 slash line, 89 RBI, 78 runs scored, five stolen bases and 31 doubles through 106 games.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Out longer than expected

Calhoun (heel) has yet to begin significant baseball activities and won't be activated any time soon, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Calhoun's right heel irritation originally looked like it would require merely a minimum-length absence, which would leave him eligible to return Saturday, but that won't be happening. Manager Chris Woodward called the issue a "weird injury" and said the Rangers don't really know when Calhoun will return, so the veteran outfielder could be stuck in limbo for some time.
