  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Homers in blowout loss

Mountcastle went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 19-8 loss to the Athletics.

Mountcastle was one of six Orioles to produce multiple hits, but they couldn't keep up with a barrage of hits from the Athletics. The long ball ended a 23-game homer drought for Mountcastle, who now has 12 homers on the year. He's slashing .271/.313/.459 with 42 RBI, 44 runs scored, 21 doubles and two stolen bases across 81 contests.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Taking advantage of playing time

Singleton went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Twins.

Singleton was in the lineup for the eighth time in the last 10 games and has taken advantage of that opportunity. Saturday's long ball marked his second home run in that span, and he's also driven in six and scored six runs while hitting .355. If Yordan Alvarez (knee) is forced to miss any additional time, Singleton's spot in the lineup should only become more secure.

  • Ben Rice 1B | NYY

Yankees' Ben Rice: Homers three times in win

Rice went 3-for-5 with three home runs and seven RBI in a 14-4 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Rice opened the scoring with a leadoff home run in the first inning and added three-run blasts in the fifth and seventh. According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Rice is the first rookie in Yankees history with a three-homer game. The 25-year-old is hitting .294 with four home runs and 12 RBI through his first 60 major-league plate appearances while earning opportunities to hit atop one of the league's best lineups.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Runs bases with no issues

Manager Rob Thomson said Saturday that Harper (hamstring) had a "good day" running the bases and that the 31-year-old will run the bases again Sunday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Harper has been out with a low-grade hamstring strain since June 27, but he's been progressing well enough to potentially return prior to the All-Star break. He was participating in on-field drills at 70-75 percent intensity earlier this week. Harper becomes eligible to come off the injured list Tuesday.

  • Jake Bauers 1B | MIL

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Idle against LHP

Bauers is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Bauers will be on the bench for a third consecutive game, and Saturday's absence is the first against a southpaw in that span. Rhys Hoskins will play first base and bat sixth.

  • Ty France 1B | CIN

Mariners' Ty France: Getting Saturday off

France isn't in the Mariners' lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto.

France has recorded a base hit in each of his last three games, but he'll take a seat Saturday versus Yariel Rodriguez and the Blue Jays. As a result, Luke Raley will pick up a start at first base while Dominic Canzone, Julio Rodriguez and Mitch Haniger fill in the outfield from left to right.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Sitting versus southpaw

Soderstrom isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore.

Left-hander Cade Povich will start on the mound for the O's, forcing the lefty-hitting Soderstrom into the dugout to begin Saturday's contest. In his place, Armando Alvarez will start at first base and bat fifth.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | SF

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Sitting vs. southpaw Saturday

Wade is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Wade went 0-for-3 with one run, one walk and two strikeouts in Friday's 4-2 win over Cleveland. He'll retreat to the bench Saturday against southpaw Logan Allen, with Tyler Fitzgerald starting at first base and batting sixth.

  • David Villar 1B | SF

Giants' David Villar: Sent down to Triple-A

The Giants optioned Villar to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.

Villar went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his last start Wednesday against Atlanta. The 27-year-old infielder appeared in just six games for the Giants after being recalled June 22, going 5-for-17 with one home run, four RBI and five strikeouts. San Francisco recalled left-hander Kolton Ingram from Double-A Richmond in a corresponding move.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | CLE

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Sets career high in homers

Naylor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Naylor had some dry stretches in June, but he's turned it around by going 9-for-24 (.375) with six RBI over his last six games. The first baseman set a career high with his 21st homer of the year. He's added 64 RBI, 50 runs scored, three stolen bases, 16 doubles and a .246/.323/.505 slash line over 82 contests. He started the year hot before a shaky May and slightly better June, so he could still find another level in the second half.
