  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

    Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Sitting Monday

Rizzo is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Rizzo sits after starting 13 straight games at first base. He hit .292/.370/.542 over that stretch but went hitless in his last two contests. Luke Voit starts at first base.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Goes yard in three-hit day

Flores went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's win over the Cubs.

Flores didn't waste time to make an impact after being activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday and was San Francisco's best offensive performer in this one. The veteran might be headed for a bench role more often than not in the final weeks of the regular season, but he has shown the ability to produce when given enough at-bats, too. He's hitting .272 with five homers, 11 RBI, eight runs scored and a .787 OPS since the beginning of August.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Swats homer in loss

Mountcastle went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 22-7 loss to Toronto.

The 24-year-old went deep in the third inning, but even with his homer, Baltimore trailed 16-4 at the time. Mountcastle has been excellent in his first full major-league season, slashing .264/.316/.498 with 28 long balls, 79 RBI, 68 runs scored and four stolen bases through 507 plate appearances. He's gone yard in three of his last five contests.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Earns share of home run lead

Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and three total runs scored in Sunday's 22-7 win over Baltimore.

The first baseman went deep in the second inning to give Toronto a 6-0 lead. It was Guerrero's 44th homer of the year, tying him with Shohei Ohtani for the major-league lead. While it's already been a great season for Guerrero, he's been even better lately, hitting .372 (32-for-86) with eight homers, 13 RBI and 20 runs scored across his last 21 games. He's gone without a hit in just one game in that span. For the season, he owns a 1.018 OPS, 102 RBI and 113 runs scored in 142 contests.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Slated to miss at least two weeks

Tellez (kneecap) is expected to spend a minimum of two weeks on the injured list, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Tellez was diagnosed with a strained right patella after he left Saturday's game against Cleveland, and manager Craig Counsell said Sunday that the first baseman will be reassessed after two weeks. With three weeks remaining in the regular season, the 26-year-old faces a tight window if he hopes to return to game action prior to postseason play.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Likely to avoid IL

The Padres aren't expected to place Cronenworth on the injured list while he manages a fractured left ring finger, but he remains without a clear timeline to return to the lineup, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cronenworth will remain on the bench for the second straight day in Sunday's series finale with the Dodgers, resulting in Fernando Tatis moving from the outfield to shortstop once again. According to Acee, the Padres are optimistic that Cronenworth will avoid the IL due to where the fracture is on his finger in addition to the progress he's made since sustaining the injury Friday, but the 27-year-old still looks on track to miss additional starts beyond Sunday. Don't expect him back in the lineup Monday, when the Padres kick off a four-game series in San Francisco.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Activated, starting Sunday

Flores (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He's starting at first base and batting sixth versus the Cubs.

Flores missed only a minimal amount of time with a left hamstring strain. While he's starting Sunday, the infielder will likely be utilized in a bench role more often than not going forward, although he could see a short-side platoon role with Tommy La Stella at second base.

  • Kevin Padlo 1B | LAD

Mariners' Kevin Padlo: Heads back to minors

The Mariners optioned Padlo to Triple-A Tacoma following Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The infielder did not appear in a game after being recalled from Tacoma on Thursday. Padlo loses his active roster spot now that Tyler Anderson (bereavement) is active and with the team.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Resting again Sunday

Vaughn (leg) is not starting Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

The rookie should still be considered day-to-day as he works through leg soreness. Manager Tony La Russa figures to be especially cautious with Vaughn as he's been with other key players on the division-leading White Sox, so a trip to the injured list is not out of the question. Jose Abreu is DH'ing Sunday with Yasmani Grandal filling in at first base.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Lands on injured list

Tellez was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right patella Sunday.

Tellez left Saturday's game in Cleveland with what was originally called right knee discomfort. As it turns out, the injury is serious enough to shut him down for at least 10 days, though whether or not he'll miss more time beyond that point is not yet clear. Luke Maile was called up to take his place on the roster.
