  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Snags steal Saturday

Frazier went 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Mairners.

Frazier had a productive all-around game while snapping a 1-for-19 skid over his previous seven contests. The second baseman is hitting just .227 on the season with a .673 OPS, but he's maintained regular playing time. He's added eight home runs, seven steals, 33 RBI and 35 runs scored through 263 plate appearances. Frazier's main competition for playing time is still Ramon Urias, who has filled more of a utility role in the infield of late.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC

Royals' Nicky Lopez: Not in Sunday's lineup

Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.

Lopez started the past two games and will hit the bench Sunday after going 1-for-6 with a hit-by-pitch and a run scored. Samad Taylor will man the keystone Sunday for Kansas City.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Breaks out with three hits

Semien went 3-for-5 in Saturday's 1-0 loss to the Yankees.

Semien has hit a quiet stretch of late and entered Saturday's game on a 10-for-67 (.149) run over the previous 15 games. Despite the downturn, he maintains a respectable .276 average and ranks tied for second in MLB in runs (61) and sixth in hits (89).

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Collects three hits Saturday

Altuve went 3-for-5 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.

Altuve had been slumping coming into the contest, going 1-for-15 over his previous five games. The veteran second baseman struck out just twice in that stretch, however, so he was due to see some hits fall in. Altuve's slashing a modest (by his standards) .263/.351/.424 in his 26 games this season, but he's contributed five thefts and is on pace for just his second campaign of double-digit steals over the past five years.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Logs pair of steals

Brujan went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two steals in Saturday's loss to Kansas City.

Brujan was demoted to the minors in late April after going 5-for-20 (.250) with seven strikeouts and zero extra-base hits but returned to the big leagues on June 5. Saturday's performance was his best since the call-up, posting his first multi-hit effort of the stint while collecting his first two stolen bases of the campaign. Though Brujan is slashing a lowly .227/.261/.250, he'll continue to see semi-regular action as long as Brandon Lowe (back) is on the shelf.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Smacks homer in three-hit effort

Drury went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 25-1 win over the Rockies.

Drury hit the second of three consecutive homers for the Angels in the third inning and added three more RBI by the end of the fourth. The infielder has seven multi-hit efforts in his last 11 games, batting .354 (17-for-48) over that span. He's maintained a strong .273/.318/.500 slash line with 13 homers, 41 RBI, 34 runs scored, 17 doubles and two triples over 70 contests this season. The Angels acquired Mike Moustakas from the Rockies after the game, a signal that Drury may have competition for playing time at first base, though he could also shift over to second full-time in favor of the slumping Luis Rengifo, who had been playing third base recently prior to Friday's trade for Eduardo Escobar.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Out of lineup Saturday

Rengifo is not in the starting lineup against the Rockies on Saturday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The Angels will give Rengifo a day off after an 0-for-2 game against the Rockies on Friday that saw his OPS fall to .589 on the season. Brandon Drury is playing second base with Hunter Renfroe lined up at first base for the first time in the 2023 campaign.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Mariners' Jose Caballero: Hits bench Saturday

Caballero is not in Saturday's lineup against the Orioles.

Caballero had drawn four consecutive starts but will get a day off Saturday. Kolten Wong is taking over at second base while hitting ninth.

  • Angels' Michael Stefanic: Short stay in majors

Stefanic was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Stefanic was recalled by the Angels after the team suffered a flurry of injuries along the infield. However, the team acquired Eduardo Escobar from the Mets and promoted David Fletcher from Salt Lake, leaving Stefanic without a spot on the roster. He collected two hits across seven at-bats with the Angels.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Mariners' Jose Caballero: Busy night on basepaths

Caballero went 1-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Orioles on Friday.

While several other teammates put together much more sensational stat lines in the Mariners' 13-1 win, Caballero was effective with a small-ball approach out of the bottom of the order. The rookie's steal was his 11th of the season, while the three times he reached safely pushed his on-base percentage to a stellar .377. Caballero has also reached safely in four of his last five games, although he has just one extra-base hit, a double, over that span.
