Lowe is absent from the Rays' lineup for the second straight day Friday due to a slight back issue, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe missed a large chunk of the 2022 campaign with back problems, although manager Kevin Cash said this issue is unrelated. The second baseman plans to go through a full workout Friday and be available off the bench, so it sounds like he should return to the lineup soon.

Frazier isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After going 2-for-3 and scoring four times Thursday against the Royals, Frazier earned himself a day off for Friday's series opener. Ramon Urias will take over at second base and bat sixth in Frazier's absence.

Frazier went 2-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and four runs scored in Thursday's 13-10 win over the Royals.

Frazier has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 7-for-19 (.368). Thursday was his first multi-hit effort in that span. The second baseman is up to a .241/.333/.379 slash line with three home runs, 10 RBI, five steals, 20 runs scored and three doubles through 99 plate appearances.

Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two total runs and four total RBI in Thursday's 11-7 win against the Cardinals.

Rengifo was the biggest producer on a day when the Angels pounded out a season-high 16 hits. The utility man gave Los Angeles its first lead with a three-run homer in the second inning and added another RBI with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. This was Rengifo's first three-hit game of the campaign and his first multi-hit performance since April 10.

Merrifield is not in the Blue Jays' lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.

The Jays are going with Cavan Biggio at second base against Red Sox righty Brayan Bello. Merrifield began the season with a 22-game on-base streak but has since failed to reach base the last two contests.

Caballero went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a run in an extra-inning win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

The multi-hit effort was the first of Caballero's young career and gave his average and OPS boosts of 76 and 120 points to .250 and .611, respectively. The rookie has logged just 31 plate appearances to date, but he's already flashed with a pair of doubles and stolen bases apiece in addition to Wednesday's encouraging performance.

Rosario went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Yankees.

Rosario may be showing some flashes of getting into form -- he's hit safely in four straight games, though he's gone just 4-for-17 with five strikeouts and a walk in that span. The shortstop is still seeing close to everyday playing time, but his .227/.263/.318 slash line through 26 contests is by far the worst of his career. He's added six steals, one home run, six RBI and 15 runs scored while regularly hitting second despite the cold bat.

Sosa was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox on Thursday.

He was just optioned Monday but is back to take the spot of the injured Jake Burger (oblique). Sosa is getting a start at second base Thursday.

Drury is not in the Angels' lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

It's likely a routine day off for Drury, who has gone 2-for-16 with a solo homer and eight strikeouts in the past four games. Jake Lamb will start at first base and Luis Rengifo will cover second.

Ibanez went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in an 8-1 win over the Mets during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

After getting the start in left field and going 0-for-2 in the matinee, Ibanez came back out for the nightcap as the DH while batting ninth and collected his first hits since his promotion at the end of April. The 30-year-old has seen most of his action at third base so far, but his versatility could net him consistent playing time across the diamond if his bat gets going. Ibanez does have a career .289/.361/.463 slash line in over 1,500 plate appearances at Triple-A, but he hasn't been able to replicate that level of performance in the majors.
