  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: Not in Friday's lineup

Frazier will be on the bench Friday against the Mariners.

Frazier will sit against southpaw Rich Hill, which means he's now been on the bench against three of the last five lefties the Mariners have faced. Abraham Toro will start at second base.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Sent back to Triple-A

Ibanez was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Ibanez was optioned Sunday but returned two days later, only to head back to the minors three days after that. How long he'll be off the roster this time around is not yet clear. He hasn't done much at the plate at the big-league level this season, hitting .218/.273/.277 in 40 games.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC

    Royals' Nicky Lopez: Breather Friday

Lopez is not in the starting lineup for Friday's contest against the Orioles.

Lopez will sit after he went 0-for-12 over the last four games. Whit Merrifield will get the start at second base while MJ Melendez takes over in right field and bats fifth.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: On base twice in loss

Andrus went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run in a loss to the Guardians on Thursday. He also was caught stealing on his only attempt.

The veteran shortstop laced his 15th double of the season in the sixth inning and subsequently came around to score on Seth Brown's pinch-hit two-bagger. Andrus' productive night helped snap a brief 3-for-17 stretch that had encompassed his prior five games, and he's now carrying a .295/.347/.477 slash line since May 10.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Remains productive Thursday

Kemp went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks in a loss to the Guardians on Thursday.

Kemp worked out of the leadoff spot and enjoyed another busy night, reaching safely for the fourth time in the last five games. The veteran has picked up the pace a bit at the plate over the last week-plus, putting together a .351 on-base percentage over the last nine games.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Twins' Luis Arraez: Leading off Thursday

Arraez (shoulder) is starting at first base and batting leadoff in Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Arraez didn't appear in Wednesday's win over the Yankees due to right shoulder tightness, but he'll rejoin the lineup for Thursday's series finale. Over his last five games, he's gone 8-for-18 with five runs, an RBI, a walk and a strikeout.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Guardians' Amed Rosario: Gets breather Thursday

Rosario isn't starting Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Rosario is in the midst of a four-game hitting streak during which he is 7-for-17 with three runs, an RBI and two stolen bases. Andres Gimenez will shift to shortstop while Owen Miller starts at second base.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Knocks in three

Brujan went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI on Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Brujan delivered an RBI double in the opening inning and followed that up by driving in another run on a single in the sixth. It was both Brujan's first multi-hit and multi-RBI performance of the season. Given that, it's unsurprising he is hitting just .147/.205/.200 across 83 plate appearances on the campaign. Despite his struggles, Brujan has started 12 of the last 14 games.

  • Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD

Red Sox's Jonathan Arauz: Rejoins big club

Arauz was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old made Boston's Opening Day roster and appeared in five games before landing on the COVID-19 injured list, and he was sent to Worcester once activated. Arauz is hitless through nine plate appearances and had a .643 OPS in 28 contests for the Red Sox in 2021.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Out with hip flexor strain

Hernandez was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right hip flexor strain, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez has apparently been playing through the injury for a bit, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Jonathan Arauz has been promoted in a corresponding move, while Christian Arroyo could see more time in the outfield while Hernandez is sidelined.
