  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Reinstated from injured list

The Marlins activated Brujan (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Brujan has been out all month due to a right shoulder AC joint sprain but is ready to return after playing a couple rehab games with Triple-A Jacksonville. He should see a good amount of playing time down the stretch in a super-utility role.

  • Donovan Walton 2B | LAA

Giants' Donovan Walton: Picks up fourth straight start

Walton will start at second base and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Orioles, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Walton will pick up his fourth consecutive start at the keystone, including his third in a row against a right-handed starting pitcher. Since being called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Walton has gone 2-for-13 with a home run and two walks, but that modest level of production looks like it'll be enough for him to be the favored option at second base over Brett Wisely, who is batting .123 since the beginning of August.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | ATL

Giants' Brett Wisely: Losing out on everyday role

Wisely is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The lefty-hitting Wisely will hit the bench for a second straight game, with the Giants having faced right-handed starters in both contests. The consecutive days off could hint that Wisely has lost hold of a regular role in the middle infield after slashing an abysmal .123/.177/.158 since the beginning of August. Donovan Walton is included in the lineup for a fourth consecutive contest and may be viewed as the Giants' top option at the keystone for now.

  • Nick Yorke 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Yorke: Tallies first run, RBI

Yorke went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals.

Yorke reached on an infield single in his second trip to the plate before stealing second, though he was left stranded. He then recorded a clutch knock with two outs in the sixth and eventually came home on a three-run shot from Billy Cook as Pittsburgh took a 5-4 lead. The second baseman has now recorded multiple hits in back-to-back contests after going 0-for-3 in his Pirates debut Monday. His RBI and run scored on Wednesday also marked the firsts of his MLB career.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes 45th bag

Turang went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Phillies.

Turang has stolen four bases over his last five games to give him 45 thefts on the year. That's good for third in the majors behind only Shohei Ohtani (49) and Elly De La Cruz (64). Turang is batting .293 (17-for-58) in September, an improvement on his .258 average for the year. His place atop the order has helped him be moderately productive despite a .677 OPS, as he's added 69 runs scored, 54 RBI, seven home runs, 23 doubles and four triples over 146 contests.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Taking seat vs. lefty

Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

With lefty Ryan Weathers on the bump for Miami, the lefty-hitting Lux will retreat to the bench. Mookie Betts has been serving as the Dodgers' everyday right fielder since coming off the injured list Aug. 12, but he'll pick up a start at the keystone Wednesday in place of Lux.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | ATL

Giants' Brett Wisely: Getting day off

Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wisely will retreat to the bench after he went just 1-for-17 with eight strikeouts and one walk while starting in each of the past six games. Donovan Walton will spell Wisely at second base.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Garcia (wrist) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Garcia was removed from Tuesday's contest with right wrist discomfort, although the exit was deemed precautionary. With lefty Jose Quintana on the hill for the Mets, there's a good chance Garcia wouldn't have been starting even if he were 100 percent. Jose Tena will cover second base for the Nationals while Ildemaro Vargas occupies third.

  • Javier Sanoja SS | MIA

Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Returns to bench role

Sanoja is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

After getting called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sept. 7, Sanoja proceeded to start in seven of the Marlins' ensuing nine games, seeing time in left field, center field and both middle-infield spots during that stretch. However, with Xavier Edwards stepping back in as the Marlins' everyday shortstop and with Miami facing right-handers on consecutive days, Sanoja has found himself back on the bench for both contests. The rookie looks set to operate as a short-side platoon player for the duration of the season.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Diamondbacks' Luis Guillorme: Swipes bag in loss

Guillorme started at second base and went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Rockies.

The steal was Guillorme's third in 18 games since joining the Diamondbacks. Ketel Marte was given the day off, clearing the way for Guillorme to get a start. Now that Marte is back from an ankle injury and regularly playing the field, Guillorme has receded into a backup role. Tuesday's start was his first in seven contests.
