Marte was lifted from Sunday's game against the Twins with left quadricep tightness, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

The 29-year-old went 0-for-3 before being replaced by Geraldo Perdomo during the bottom of the fifth inning. Marte will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery prior to Tuesday's series opener against the Dodgers.

Hernandez will start in left field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Padres.

Hernandez will stick in the lineup for the seventh straight game and will appear in his 10th contest overall since beginning his second stint with the Dodgers on July 26. He's managed a .286/.300/.393 slash line through his first nine games with the Dodgers, but don't expect Hernandez's playing time to remain quite as robust moving forward. Hernandez has mostly benefited from the Dodgers having encountered a lefty-heavy slate of late, with Sunday's game marking the fifth time in six contests that Los Angeles has opposed a southpaw starter. He's not expected to be a lineup regular versus right-handed pitching.

Mathias was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Mathias was acquired by the Giants ahead of the trade deadline and will now receive his first look with the big club. The 29-year-old played in 22 games for the Pirates earlier in the season and had a .231/.355/.269 slash line in 62 plate appearances.

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

He'll get a breather for the series finale after he started in all five of the Rockies' games since he returned from the 60-day injured list Monday, going a collective 5-for-21 with two RBI and one walk against six strikeouts in those contests. Alan Trejo will spell Rodgers at the keystone.

McNeil went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Orioles.

McNeil accounted for most of the damage on the day against Orioles starter Kyle Gibson, who allowed only four hits and three earned runs over seven innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. The home run was McNeil's fourth of the season and helped lift his batting average up to .253. With Brandon Nimmo resting in Sunday's series finale, McNeil will start in left field and handle leadoff duties.

Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Cubs.

Albies took Javier Assad deep in the bottom of the second to bring Atlanta back within three runs of the Cubs and later added a stolen base after reaching on a fielder's choice, but he was left stranded. The second baseman has now hit safely in four straight contests to open the month of August, while the stolen base Saturday was the first he's recorded since July 15. Albies has also contributed eight RBI over his last 10 games to go along with seven runs scored.

Peguero went 1-for-4 with a run and a stolen base Saturday in an extra-inning loss to Milwaukee.

Peguero was key in helping the Pirates take a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning, as he singled with two outs, stole second base and came around to score on a Jason Delay double. The theft was Peguero's first (and his first attempt) in 14 games as a major leaguer. There may be many more stolen bases to come, as Peguero ranks in the 97th percentile in sprint speed and swiped over 20 bags in each of his past three seasons in the minors.

The Pirates optioned Capra to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Bailey Falter was added in place of Capra, who got the start at second base Friday and went 0-for-3 with a walk. It was the 27-year-old's third career start in the major leagues. He's put together a decent campaign at Triple-A between Buffalo and Indianapolis (.287/.421/.395) and may get another look before the end of the season.

The Giants optioned Diaz to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Thairo Estrada's return from a hand injury will bump Diaz from the active roster. Once a highly touted prospect, Diaz fizzled out in Miami and has gone just 1-for-19 across two stints with San Francisco this season. He could be a DFA candidate later this year.

Estrada (hand) was activated from the injured list and will start at second base in Saturday's game against the A's, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Estrada will return to the two hole against right-hander Paul Blackburn after a brief, three-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento. Many were skeptical of Estrada's breakout last season, but he was silencing his critics with a .272/.327/.434 line, nine homers and 18 steals in 70 games before the hand injury. While he may still have some rust to knock off, most fantasy managers will want to get him back in their lineup as soon as possible.
