  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

    Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Clubs homer

Marte went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 11-2 win over the Padres.

Marte tagged Martin Perez for a two-run home run in the fourth inning, marking the second baseman's 36th long ball of the campaign. In September, Marte has gone 15-for-63 (.238) with five home runs, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Finishes season with stolen base

Hoerner went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Reds in 10 innings.

Hoerner had a pedestrian stat line but managed to salvage things a bit in the season finale with his 31st stolen base. Over the last two years, the infielder has a total of 74 steals. Heading into 2025, Hoerner's greatest fantasy asset remains his speed, as he only has 29 career home runs across six seasons in the majors.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Homers, drives in two

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

He took Aaron Nola deep in the opening frame for his 18th home run of the year. Garcia later added an RBI single in the fifth, but the Nationals ultimately fell short in their season finale. The 24-year-old Garcia showed tremendous growth in 2024, setting career highs across the board. The infielder finishes his breakout season with a .282 batting average, 18 home runs, 70 RBI, 58 runs scored and 22 stolen bases in 140 games played.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Not starting Sunday

Bogaerts is absent from Sunday's lineup against Arizona.

Bogaerts will get some rest for the regular-season finale, and unless he comes in to pinch hit, he'll head into the playoffs with a slash line of .264/.307/.381, 13 stolen bases, 11 home runs and 44 RBI across 463 plate appearances. Nick Ahmed will start at shortstop Sunday and bat fifth.

  • Gavin Lux 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting against righty

Lux is not in Sunday's lineup against the Rockies.

Lux had started seven games in a row coming into this one, and his last absence was with a lefty on the hill for the opponent, so it's surprising to see him sitting Sunday against righty Ryan Feltner. Chris Taylor, who is hitting .471 over his last 17 at-bats, draws the start at the keystone.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Still out Sunday

Rodgers (hamstring) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Dodgers.

Rodgers appeared off the bench in Saturday's game after being scratched from the lineup, but he'll remain out of the starting nine in the finale. Aaron Schunk will start at second base and bat eighth.

  • Buddy Kennedy 3B | PHI

Phillies' Buddy Kennedy: Back in majors

Kennedy was recalled from the Phillies' spring training complex Sunday.

He is not in Sunday's lineup against the Nationals, but Kennedy will serve as a capable righty bench bat with Austin Hays (back) banged up. Kennedy, who turns 26 next week, has played sparingly in the majors and slashed .294/.400/.500 with 10 home runs in 300 plate appearances for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

  • Nick Yorke 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Yorke: Pops second career homer

Yorke went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Saturday against the Yankees.

Yorke has started 10 of 12 games since making his big-league debut, and he popped his second career home run Saturday. Yorke also has two steals, though his 28.9 percent strikeout rate is a concern. He should be in consideration for a roster spot to begin the 2025 campaign.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Homers in two straight

Gonzales went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Yankees.

Gonzales took Luis Gil yard to record a home run in his second consecutive game, his only two long balls since returning from the injured list Aug. 26. He's still had an impressive close to the regular season, maintaining a .308 batting average with 10 RBI and 13 runs scored to go along with a 14.8 percent strikeout rate in his last 28 appearances. While not a prolific power hitter, Gonzales should be locked into a starting role for the Pirates in 2025.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Hamstring issues return

Rodgers was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Dodgers due to left hamstring soreness.

Rodgers missed two games earlier in the week due to left hamstring problems before returning to action Friday, and his injury will now cause him to sit down once again. Aaron Schunk will fill in as Colorado's second baseman and may be in line for another start Sunday if Rodgers is unable to play in the season finale.
