  • Owen Miller 2B | CHC

Brewers' Owen Miller: Gets third straight start

Miller will start in left field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

As per usual, the righty-hitting Miller is included in the lineup versus a lefty (Marco Gonzales), but the 26-year-old looks like he'll begin to see more opportunities against right-handed pitching in the wake of Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) joining Tyrone Taylor (elbow) on the 10-day injured list. Miller had already started against right-handers in the first two games of the series in Seattle, recording a hit in both of those contests.

  • Dodgers' Yonny Hernandez: Summoned from Triple-A

The Dodgers recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Hernandez will assume the 26-man active roster spot of Miguel Rojas, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. With Gavin Lux (knee) out for the season, Chris Taylor (side) day-to-day and Mookie Betts (personal) still away from the team on paternity leave, Hernandez will bolster the Dodgers' infield depth in the short term. Hernandez recently resided on Oklahoma City's injured list due to an unspecified issue, but he's ostensibly healthy now after he returned from a two-week absence to play Tuesday versus Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Getting a start

Guillorme is starting at second base and batting ninth for the Mets on Wednesday against the Dodgers, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Manager Buck Showalter is loading up his lineup with lefties against former Met Noah Syndergaard. Guillorme has had a quiet year at the plate, although he did reach base five times in a start over the weekend.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Takes seat against lefty

Bae is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Bae will get a seat against southpaw Austin Gomber after going 1-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 5-3 victory over Colorado. Mark Mathias will handle second base duties and hit seventh in the series finale.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Getting Wednesday off

Gorman is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Gorman will get a day of rest against left-hander Madison Bumgarner. The 22-year-old sits with Willson Contreras operating as the designated hitter and Andrew Knizner starting behind the plate.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Remains sidelined Wednedsay

Donovan (lower leg) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Donovan will miss a second game in a row Wednesday as he nurses a shin abrasion. Taylor Motter will draw another start, taking over at second base and batting eighth in the series finale with Arizona.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Swats fourth homer

Albies went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Padres.

His eighth-inning shot off Nabil Crismatt, Albies' fourth long ball this season, gave Atlanta a 5-0 lead. After a bit of a slow start at the plate, the second baseman is batting .282 (11-for-39) over his last 10 games with six runs and 10 RBI, though Albies is still looking for his first steal of 2023.

  • Alan Trejo SS | COL

Rockies' Alan Trejo: Could see increased playing time

Trejo went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Trejo was in the lineup for only the seventh time this season and at second base for only the second time. However, he could be in line for more consistent playing time moving forward, as Ryan McMahon shifted to third base Tuesday, in turn pushing Elehuris Montero to the bench. Montero has struggled defensively early this season -- he made two costly errors Monday -- and is a candidate to lose more playing time or even be sent down to the minors, per Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. While Trejo has the potential to be steadier than Montero, he has maintained just a 73 wRC+ and .296 wOBA across 198 career plate appearances.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Records third steal

Estrada went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Marlins.

Estrada has gone 8-for-23 (.348) with four extra-base hits, two RBI and six runs scored over his last five games. His steal Tuesday was his first since April 3. The second baseman continues to see steady playing time, and he's made the most of it by forging a strong .333/.385/.550 slash line with three steals, three home runs, six RBI and 11 runs scored through 15 contests.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Scratched with shin abrasion

Donovan is considered day-to-day with a left shin abrasion, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

This minor issue is what prompted the Cardinals to scratch Donovan from their starting lineup Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks. Nolan Gorman will cover second base and Taylor Motter is in at third.
