Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Gets breather Saturday
Rodgers isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Remains out of lineup
Hoerner (triceps) isn't starting Saturday against the Rockies.
Hoerner recently underwent an MRI that revealed a mild-to-moderate strain of his triceps, but he remains day-to-day for now. He'll be out of the lineup for a fifth consecutive game while Christopher Morel starts at shortstop and bats ninth.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: On base three times Friday
Garcia went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Marlins.
It's the first time all season the 22-year-old has drawn multiple free passes in a game, but he still carries a rough 8:64 BB:K through 308 plate appearances in the majors in 2022. Despite his issues with plate discipline, Garcia's contributed when he's made contact, batting .288 with 18 doubles, six home runs, two steals, 24 runs and 36 RBI, and he remains one of the key pieces of the Nationals' current rebuild.

Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Fills stat sheet Friday
Kim went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, a stolen base and three total runs scored in Friday's 12-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Kim did a little bit of everything in this contest, putting together productive at-bats from the No. 5 spot. This was his first multi-hit game since Sept. 2 -- in the 11 games in between, he went a paltry 4-for-38 (.105). The shortstop still isn't at risk of losing much playing time, and he's had an altogether solid year with nine homers, 10 steals, 52 RBI, 52 runs scored and a .251/.324/.379 slash line through 134 contests.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Padres' Brandon Drury: Homers twice Friday
Drury went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 12-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Drury did his damage early, opening the scoring with a two-run blast in the first inning. He added a solo shot in the fourth for his first multi-homer game of the season. He's now 4-for-8 with three extra-base hits in two games since returning from the 7-day concussion injured list. The 30-year-old is up to a .266/.322/.511 slash line with 27 long balls, 82 RBI, 79 runs scored and two stolen bases through 121 contests between the Padres and the Reds this year.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Returning to action Saturday
Manager Dave Roberts said Lux (back) is scheduled to start at second base Saturday against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The 24-year-old hasn't seen the field since Sept. 1 due to the lingering back injury, but he's slated to return to Los Angeles' starting nine Saturday. The Dodgers have already secured the NL West title, so the team may manage Lux's workload down the stretch.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Still out Friday
Lux (back) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Lux participated in a simulated game Wednesday and was expected to be back in the lineup for Friday's series opener, but he'll instead be sidelined for a 13th straight contest. Expanded rosters in September have allowed the Dodgers to avoid placing the 24-year-old on the injured list to this point, and with no news of a setback he could return to the starting nine any day.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Riding pine against southpaw
Rojas isn't in the lineup Friday against the Padres.
Rojas started against a left-handed pitcher Thursday against San Diego but will head to the bench for the third time in the last five games since southpaw Blake Snell is on the mound Friday. Sergio Alcantara is starting at the hot corner and batting seventh.
