Marte (groin) will start at second base and bat second Tuesday against the Padres.

Right groin tightness prevented Marte from playing in Monday's contest, but he'll now return to the starting nine after a day of recovery. The 31-year-old is slashing .293/.396/.586 on the year and has hit two home runs in five games since the start of July.

Estrada is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Boston.

It's a routine day off for Estrada, who had started the previous 13 contests. Orlando Arcia will cover first base and bat eighth for the Rockies.

Koss (hamstring) is set to resume baseball activities this week and be re-evaluated after the All-Star break, per MLB.com.

Koss was placed on the 10-day injured list July 1 due to a left hamstring strain. The 27-year-old infielder will use the All-Star break to continue his recovery before the Giants determine his next steps, though his return to baseball activities is an encouraging sign. Koss has been effective in a reserve role for the Giants, slashing .265/.305/.357 with 12 runs scored, 12 RBI, two home runs and two stolen bases across 108 plate appearances.

Alexander started at second base and went 1-for-4 in Monday's 6-3 win over San Diego.

The Giants optioned Fitzgerald to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Edman (toe) could be available off the bench Monday and Tuesday in Milwaukee before possibly returning to the lineup Wednesday, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Edman will miss a second straight start Monday as he deals with a right pinkie toe injury, but it sounds like he's feeling better and his absence will be brief. When Edman returns to the lineup, he's expected to serve as the Dodgers' everyday third baseman while Max Muncy (knee) is shelved. Miguel Rojas is handling third base Monday.

The Cardinals promoted Wetherholt from Double-A Springfield to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Wetherholt slashed .300/.425/.466 with seven home runs, 14 stolen bases and a 40:44 K:BB over 62 games with Springfield to earn the promotion. He had his first two-home-run game of his career Sunday and had collected a 1.012 OPS since June 1 with Springfield. Wetherholt has split his playing time between shortstop and second base this season, but with Masyn Winn holding down shortstop in the majors, Wetherholt's future is likely at the keystone. While it's possible the 2024 first-round pick could push to join the big club in the second half of this season, a 2026 MLB debut is more likely.
