Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Lands on minor-league IL
Lawlar was placed on Triple-A Reno's 7-day injured list Thursday due to a hamstring injury, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Lawlar dealt with a hamstring issue last week into the beginning of this week, but he was back in Reno's lineup Wednesday. However, the talented young shortstop logged just one at-bat in his return before he was lifted, and he's now landed on the minor-league IL. Per Sommers, Lawlar will miss at least a month due to the injury, so he won't be back in action until late July, at the earliest.

Lopez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and three RBI in Wednesday's extra-inning win over the Giants.
The 26-year-old infielder came through with one of the game's biggest hits, bringing home Nick Fortes in the top of the 10th inning to break open a 4-4 tie and spark a four-run rally for the Marlins. Lopez has been locked in at the plate of late, slashing .347/.389/.367 over the last 12 games with five runs, seven RBI and a steal, but Wednesday's double was his first extra-base hit of any kind since June 9.

Giants' Christian Koss: Logs RBI in loss
Koss went 0-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-5 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.
Koss drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to tie the game at 2-2. He later scored in the 10th, starting at second base as the automatic runner. Fermin will join the big club for the first time this season after slashing .308/.431/.483 with five home runs, 19 steals and a 19:37 K:BB over 55 games with Memphis. The 26-year-old has produced a .504 OPS in 66 career contests at the major-league level and will operate primarily as a reserve infielder.

Mason McCoy SS | SD
Padres' Mason McCoy: Playing regularly at Triple-A
McCoy (finger) has slashed .353/.400/.627 with three home runs, two stolen bases, 12 RBI and 11 runs in 12 games for Triple-A El Paso since the Padres activated him from the 10-day injured list June 7 and optioned him to the minors.
McCoy appeared in four games for the Padres earlier this season before being placed on the IL on April 29 due to a sprained finger on his left hand. The 30-year-old infielder was cleared to begin a minor-league assignment May 20, and after his 20-day rehab window was nearing its end, the Padres opted to send him to their top affiliate. McCoy could be in the mix for a call-up with San Diego later on this summer if the big club has a need for a utility infielder.

Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Back in action at Triple-A
Lawlar (hamstring) will start at third base and bat second for Triple-A Reno in Wednesday's game against Salt Lake.
Lawlar has been out of action for Reno since last Thursday due to a sore hamstring, but he didn't require a stint on the injured list and is now back in action for the Triple-A club. The Diamondbacks are optimistic Eugenio Suarez (hand) will be able to avoid the 10-day injured list, but if he can't, Lawlar is an option to take his roster spot and get some playing time at the hot corner with the big club. Lawlar went hitless during his brief time in the majors in 2025 but boasts a .997 OPS with 10 home runs and 18 steals over 52 games with Reno.

Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Goes on IL with fractured foot
The Diamondbacks placed Vargas on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
Vargas suffered the injury in Tuesday's game versus the White Sox when he was hit by a pitch. He's been fitted with a walking boot and will miss the next several weeks of action. Blaze Alexander was called up from Triple-A Reno to absorb Vargas' spot on the roster.

Blaze Alexander SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Blaze Alexander: Receiving call-up
The Diamondbacks recalled Alexander from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
With fellow Reno infielder Jordan Lawlar nursing a hamstring injury, Alexander will move up to the big club after the Diamondbacks lost Ildemaro Vargas to a fractured right foot. Alexander is capable of playing three infield spots as well as center field, but he may see most of his initial action at third base while Eugenio Suarez (hand) is day-to-day. Alexander appeared in 61 games for Arizona in 2024 but has played exclusively at the Triple-A level so far in 2025, slashing .284/.413/.479 with eight home runs and 11 stolen bases over 54 contests with Reno.
