Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Dealing with 'wear and tear'
Mets manager Buck Showalter said McNeil is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies due to "wear and tear" with his legs, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The skipper characterized McNeil's absence from the starting nine as "preventative," so the 30-year-old may still be available off the bench Sunday. Luis Guillorme will pick up the start at second base in place of McNeil and will handle leadoff duties with normal table setter Brandon Nimmo (wrist) also getting Sunday off.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Pirates' Michael Chavis: Sitting Sunday
Chavis (forearm) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
According to Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com, Pirates assistant general manager Kevan Graves revealed Sunday that X-rays on Chavis' left forearm showed no major damage, but the 26-year-old is still dealing with some discomfort. Josh VanMeter will pick up another start at first base while Chavis sits for a second straight contest.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Riding eight-game hitting streak
Marte went 1-for-4 with a double in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
The two-bagger extended Marte's hitting streak to eight games, leaving him one contest away from matching his season-long total. In spite of the two eight-plus-game hitting streaks, Marte is still sitting on a disappointing .250/.315/.390 slash line for the season. He'll look to stay hot in the series finale Sunday, when he'll be batting third as Arizona's designated hitter.

Cavan Biggio RF | HOU
Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio: Garners fourth straight start
Biggio will start at first base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Angels.
He'll make his fourth consecutive start at his third different position, this time filling in at first base while Vladimir Guerrero contends with a sore wrist. Biggio, who has gone 2-for-8 with a double, a walk, an RBI, a run and a stolen base in his first three starts following his call-up from Triple-A Buffalo, will likely move into a utility role if Guerrero's wrist issue proves to be a short-term concern.

Owen Miller 2B | CHC
Guardians' Owen Miller: Takes seat Sunday
Miller is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Andre Knott of Bally Sports Ohio reports.
Miller started the past 17 games and will head to the bench while mired in a 3-for-21 slump. Andres Gimenez will shift to second base while Amed Rosario starts at shortstop.

Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA
Rays' Xavier Edwards: Debuts at Durham
Edwards (shoulder) has gone 3-for-12 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and two runs in three games for Triple-A Durham since being reinstated from Double-A Montgomery's 7-day injured list Tuesday and getting transferred to the Rays' top affiliate.
Coming out of spring training, Edwards was assigned to Double-A Montgomery and placed on the IL due to a shoulder impingement, but he ended up making his 2022 debut at Triple-A, presumably because Durham's infield depth has been tested with Taylor Walls, Isaac Paredes and Vidal Brujan all having been recently moved up to the big-league roster. In addition to the aforementioned three players, the Rays also have another middle-infield prospect in Jonathan Aranda at Triple-A, and since he possesses a 40-man roster spot, he'll likely be in line for a promotion to the big leagues before Edwards, who isn't on the 40-man roster.

Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM
Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Posts three-hit day
Ibanez started at designated hitter and went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Athletics.
Fresh off a game-winning two-run single as a pinch hitter Friday, Ibanez kept the momentum going with his first three-hit game of the season. He'd been mired in a deep funk, going 2-for-43 in the 15 games prior to Friday's heroics.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Finally goes yard
Semien went 1-for-4 with two walks, a home run, a second run scored and five RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the A's.
It took 44 games, but Semien finally connected on his first homer as a Ranger as he launched a fifth-inning grand slam off Jacob Lemoine. The 31-year-old seemed to be feeling the pressure of his huge contract to begin the season, but Semien's looked more like his usual self lately, batting .317 (13-for-41) over the last 10 games with three steals, five runs and eight RBI.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Slugs three-run homer
McNeil went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in an 8-2 victory over the Phillies on Saturday.
The Mets were down by one run entering the bottom of the fourth inning, but McNeil turned things around on one swing with a three-run shot to right field. The long ball was his third of the campaign and second in his past five games. McNeil has been hot over that stretch, going 7-for-16 with the pair of homers, five RBI, six runs and a stolen base.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Notches three hits, steals base
Hoerner went 3-for-4 with a run and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-1 win against the White Sox.
Hoerner rapped three singles in the contest, and his leadoff hit in the second inning led to the Cubs' third run. This was his fifth multi-hit performance of the campaign and first in three weeks. Hoerner is slashing .295/.315/.438 on the season.
