Frazier is out of the lineup against the Nationals on Wednesday.

Frazier will retreat to the bench following six straight starts while Max Moroff gets the nod at second base. Over 27 appearances this season, Frazier is hitting .237/.284/.303 with one home run and four RBI.

Dubon is riding a 19-game hitting streak for Triple-A Colorado Springs, over which he has hit .337 with a .940 OPS, 12 extra-base hits, 15 RBI and two steals.

Dubon's numbers speak for themselves, but it is important to note that he has a .970 OPS at home this season compared to a not-as-impressive .797 mark away from the thin Colorado air. Regardless, Dubon is making a strong push to be called up to the big leagues for the first time in his career.

Updating a previous note, it appears that Tomlinson will play on the short side of a platoon at second base alongside Alen Hanson, as reported by Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Tomlinson retreated to the bench Tuesday against Padres right-hander Tyson Ross, which should be the norm while Joe Panik (thumb) is sidelined for the next six weeks. The utility infielder should still receive two or three starts per week (as he had prior to Panik's surgery), but those in need of a fill-in at the middle infield position should look more at Hanson, who started at the keystone Tuesday and recorded his second steal.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated Tuesday that Forsythe (shoulder) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Forsythe had his throwing program pushed back multiple times since going on the disabled list April 15 with right shoulder inflammation, but now appears to be making progress. Assuming the 31-year-old can avoid any setbacks, a return sometime during next week's homestand against the Diamondbacks and Reds seems possible.

Hernandez is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

With Corey Seager out for the rest of the season, Hernandez is expected to see frequent time in center field while Chris Taylor covers shortstop. However, Hernandez will sit out Tuesday night as the Dodgers deploy Joc Pederson in center field.

Brujan ranks second in the Midwest League with 10 steals (on 11 attempts) but is hitting just .253/.333/.293 in 84 plate appearances.

The 20-year-old second baseman has some obvious strengths -- he's a plus runner with some patience at the plate (9.5 percent walk rate). However, he currently hits for very little power (just six home runs in 197 pro games) and seems to be generating too much weak contact to be able to consistently hit for a high average, largely negating his all-fields approach. He could be a table setter who challenges for 20-plus steals down the road, but adding muscle and tapping into a bit more power will be crucial for him to make it as an everyday player.

Arroyo (calf) was activated from the minor-league disabled list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Arroyo is set to return to action after missing the past two weeks with a strained calf. The 22-year-old, who was one of the top prospects the Rays received in return for Evan Longoria, was hitting just .200/.259/.240 across seven games before landing on the shelf. He'll look to turn things around now that he's healthy.

Petit's contract was selected by the Twins on Tuesday.

With Miguel Sano (hamstring) heading to the disabled list, the Twins were in need of a new position player. Petit most recently appeared in the majors back in 2016, and he holds just a .249 batting average with four home runs in his big-league career. He was hitting .293 in 58 at-bats with Triple-A Rochester prior to being promoted, however, and offers lots of positional versatility off the bench. To make room for him on the active roster, Dietrich Enns was designated for assignment.

Barreto is slashing .311/.407/.600 with four doubles, three home runs, six RBI, seven walks, a stolen base and eight runs over 54 plate appearances with Triple-A Nashville thus far in 2018.

Things didn't go so well for Barreto in his initial 25-game cup of coffee with the Athletics in 2017, as he hit just .197 over 76 plate appearances. The 22-year-old has encountered much more success at the Triple-A level. Barreto already had one stint with Oakland this season while Chad Pinder dealt with a knee injury, but he failed to log any plate appearances. Although Marcus Semien has a firm hold on the shortstop job at the big-league level, Barreto notably took outfield reps during his aforementioned major-league stay earlier in 2018, and that type of versatility could potentially afford him another opportunity later in the season.

Tomlinson figures to see more starts at second base following Joe Panik's placement on the disabled list with a thumb injury.

Alan Hanson (1-for-3 with a steal) got the start at the keystone Monday with Tomlinson (0-for-3) filling in at short on Brandon Crawford's rest day. The two might platoon at second base moving forward, with Tomlinson at least getting all of the starts against left-handed pitching. The 27-year-old has stolen 19 bases in 580 career plate appearances, so he could be a cheap source of steals without being a negative in batting average (career .282 hitter) while Panik is sidelined for at least six weeks.
