Luisangel Acuna 2B | CHW
Mets' Luisangel Acuna: Taking seat Thursday
Acuna is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Jeff McNeil has mostly been playing in the outfield since returning from the injured list a week ago, but he'll return to his more natural spot at second base Thursday, which leaves no room in the lineup for Acuna. The 23-year-old had occupied the keystone for each of the Mets' last five games, going 6-for-20 with two runs, two RBI and a stolen base.

Dameury Pena 2B | MIN
Twins' Dameury Pena: Shut down at Single-A
Single-A Fort Myers placed Pena on its 7-day injured list April 16 due to an unspecified injury.
The 19-year-old infield prospect was hitting .259/.323/.407 with a home run and two stolen bases across 31 plate appearances for Fort Myers before being deactivated.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Out against lefty
Gorman is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Cincinnati.
The left-handed-hitting Gorman is in a 1-for-17 funk at the plate and the Reds are starting southpaw Andrew Abbott, so Gorman will sit out Thursday's series finale. Luken Baker is at designated hitter and batting sixth.

Tim Tawa 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Bats leadoff Wednesday
Tawa batted leadoff and went 0-for-5 in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Mets.
Tawa typically occupies the ninth spot in the order against pitchers of either hand. Against lefties, Corbin Carroll is dropped to second and Geraldo Perdomo leads off, but Perdomo was getting a rest day Wednesday, prompting Tawa's promotion. Once Ketel Marte (hamstring) returns from the 10-day injured list, he'll be the default leadoff batter against southpaws. Tawa is batting .182 (10-for-55) with a .728 OPS (six extra-base hits) over 18 games.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Pops first home run Wednesday
Keith went 1-for-2 with a walk, a two-run home run and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 7-4 victory over the Astros.
Keith has seen his playing time dip recently, as this was just his fourth start over Detroit's last eight contests, though he did start all three games of the series against Houston. The second-inning home run was the first of the season for the 23-year-old, who is still batting just .181. Keith may have to get on a hot streak soon to hold onto anything close to an everyday role.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Scratched from lineup
Turang was scratched from the Brewers' lineup against the White Sox on Wednesday due to an illness.
Isaac Collins will get the start at second base and bat in the leadoff spot while Turang, who has gone 13-for-40 (.325) with three stolen bases, eight runs and five RBI over his last 10 games, will get a day off to recover from the ailment.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Working through ankle issue
Edman did not play in Wednesday's 12-7 win over the Marlins due to a right ankle injury, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.
Edman said after Wednesday's game that he tweaked his right ankle during Tuesday's win against Miami. Edman will have two days of rest heading into the Dodgers' weekend matchup against Atlanta and could be available for Friday's series opener. He is slashing .252/.295/.523 with two stolen bases, 19 runs scored, eight home runs and 24 RBI in 122 plate appearances this season.
-
Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Not starting Wednesday
Massey is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Rays on Wednesday.
Even though the Rays are sending right-hander Drew Rasmussen to the mound, the lefty-hitting Massey will begin Wednesday's game in the dugout while Cavan Biggio starts at second base and bats eighth. Massey has struggled to start the season, slashing .188/.206/.219 with four runs scored and nine RBI in 103 plate appearances.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Idle Wednesday
Garcia is not in the Nationals' starting lineup against the Phillies on Wednesday.
Garcia has been in the Nationals' starting nine against lefties a few times this season, but he'll begin Wednesday's game in the dugout while Amed Rosario starts at the keystone and bats in the leadoff spot against Phillies southpaw Cristopher Sanchez. Garcia has recorded at least one hit in five of his last six games, and over that span he has gone 7-for-21 with one stolen base, two runs scored and a solo homer.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Pirates' Adam Frazier: Idle vs. lefty again
Frazier is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Cubs on Wednesday.
The Cubs are sending a southpaw for a second straight game, so Frazier will retreat to the dugout while Jared Triolo starts at second base and bats eighth against Matthew Boyd. Frazier is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak, going 12-for-33 (.364) with three stolen bases, five runs scored and two RBI over that span.
