Alexander will start at third base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Athletics.

In the wake of Eugenio Suarez being traded to the Mariners on Thursday, Alexander appears to have settled in as Arizona's everyday third baseman. He'll pick up his fifth straight start Sunday after going 2-for-14 with a walk and a run over the previous four contests.

Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

After starting each of the past 11 games while batting .279 with two home runs and four RBI, Marte will retreat to the bench for Sunday's matinee. Connor Kaiser will step in at second base in place of Marte.

The Angels optioned Kingery to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Kingery was called up by the Halos last weekend but didn't pick up a start during his week in the majors. The 31-year-old is batting .160 (4-for-25) with a double and a stolen base in 14 big-league games this season.

The Angels reinstated Moore (thumb) from the 10-day injured list, and he will start at second base and bat eighth Sunday versus the White Sox.

Moore has been sidelined for the past month due to a thumb sprain but will rejoin the 26-man active roster after going 5-for-11 with two doubles and a home run during a four-game rehab assignment at Single-A Inland Empire. In his first 18 MLB games prior to the injury, the 22-year-old had yet to get on track for the Halos with a .189/.302/.396 slash line and 31.2 percent strikeout rate, though he has showcased his power potential with three long balls.

Jackson will start in right field and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Jackson has been put to work since being called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, as he'll pick up his third consecutive start Sunday. The 25-year-old has produced three base knocks in his first six at-bats with Baltimore, but he's nonetheless expected to see his playing time take a hit once Tyler O'Neill moves past an illness and Ryan Mountcastle (hamstring) is activated from the injured list, which could happen later this week.

Edman was removed from Sunday's game against the Rays in the top of the fifth inning due to a right ankle sprain. He went 1-for-2 with a base hit prior to his departure.

Edman injured the same ankle last week, also while running the bases, but he returned to the lineup Tuesday. Given the recurring nature of the issue, Edman could be a candidate for the injured list. The Dodgers are expected to get Max Muncy (knee) back from the IL as soon as Monday, so rookie Alex Freeland could have his stay in the majors extended if Edman lands on the IL in a corresponding move.

The Blue Jays optioned Jimenez to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

Though the Blue Jays brought back Alejandro Kirk (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Sunday, Tyler Heineman is day-to-day with a head injury, so the team will carry a third backstop in Ali Sanchez. As a result, Jimenez ended up being the roster casualty. The 24-year-old infielder had been seeing sparse playing time, making just one start over the previous 10 contests.

India (forearm/wrist) will serve as the Royals' designated hitter and leadoff batter in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

India suffered a left wrist/forearm contusion when he was struck by a pitch in the third inning of Saturday's 4-2 loss, but he apparently made enough progress overnight to rejoin the lineup for the series finale. With India occupying the DH spot, the Royals will have Adam Frazier pick up a start at the keystone.

Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The Dodgers appear to be prioritizing rookie Alex Freeland in the infield over Rojas at the moment, as the veteran will sit for the second time in the series. Both players will see their opportunities trend downward when Max Muncy (knee) returns from the injured list however, which is likely to happen during the upcoming week.

Torres went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Phillies.

Torres has started August with home runs on consecutive days to get to 13 long balls for the season. The veteran has been on a more extended power binge with four home runs over his last six games. Torres offers good pop for a middle infielder, and he also has a strong .277/.374/.433 slash line across 99 games in what's been a productive debut campaign with the Tigers.
