Tigers' Colt Keith: Removed from game after collision

Keith was removed from Saturday's game against the Brewers in the third inning after colliding with Akil Baddoo while tracking down a flyball, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Keith was running full speed toward the foul line in right field and collided with Akil Baddoo as the ball dropped. The second baseman looked to be grabbing at his left leg before walking back to the dugout unassisted. Zach McKinstry replaced Keith at second base.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Scratched from lineup

Marte (undisclosed) was scratched from Arizona's lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Padres.

The Diamondbacks have not yet provided a reason for Marte's removal from the lineup, but they should offer some clarity relatively soon. Blaze Alexander will enter as the replacement second baseman while batting sixth.

  • Brandon Drury 1B | CHW

Angels' Brandon Drury: Slated for rehab stint next week

Drury (hamstring) has responded well to recent baseball activities and is likely to head out on a rehab assignment during the week of June 10, per MLB.com.

Drury hasn't played since injuring his left hamstring May 8, but he recently progressed to running and participating in full baseball activities, including taking groundballs and hitting on the field. The veteran infielder hasn't had any setbacks while taking part in that work and thus appears just about ready to head out on a rehab stint. It's unclear how many minor-league games Drury will play in, but it appears he could be back with the Angels by the end of next week.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Diagnosed with hand fracture

Manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Hoerner has a small fracture in his hand, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Counsell noted that the team's doctors are comfortable with Hoerner playing through his injury once the swelling subsides, and the Cubs will wait a few days to see how his hand recovers before deciding on a potential IL move. Meanwhile, David Bote figures to see regular action at second base while Hoerner is sidelined.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Sitting as expected

Rodgers (hamstring) isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Rodgers had to be taken out of Friday's game after his hamstring tightened up on him while running to first base in the fourth inning. The Rockies said the 27-year-old would require treatment for a couple of days, so Alan Trejo will take over at second base and bat ninth Saturday.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Sitting again Saturday

Hoerner (hand) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Hoerner sat out Friday's game after getting hit in the hand by a pitch Thursday, and the issue seems to still be bothering him ahead of Saturday's contest. David Bote will start at second base and bat seventh while Hoerner recovers.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | ARI

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Sitting Saturday

Lopez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Despite Boston sending right-hander Brayan Bello to the mound Saturday, the lefty-hitting Lopez will begin the game in the dugout while Danny Mendick starts at second base. Lopez started in the first two games of the series, going 1-for-8 with two strikeouts.

  • Jorge Polanco 2B | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Ramping up activity

Polanco (hamstring) has been ramping up baseball activities but will require a minor-league rehab assignment before activation, MLB.com reports.

The veteran infielder took full infield practice during the Mariners' three-game road trip in Oakland earlier in the week, and there were no reported setbacks. However, manager Scott Servais confirmed before Friday's series opener against the Royals that Polanco will require at least a brief rehab assignment, which could commence at Triple-A Tacoma in the coming days.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Sitting versus southpaw

McNeil isn't in the Mets' lineup Saturday against the Phillies, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

With left-hander Ranger Suarez slated to start on the mound for Philadelphia, the lefty-hitting McNeil will step out of the lineup Saturday. Jose Iglesias starts at the keystone, batting eighth.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Crushes homer in loss

Marte went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Padres.

The second baseman is on a roll to begin June, going 11-for-26 (.423) with three homers and six RBI over his first seven games this month. Marte is up to 13 long balls, 35 RBI, 41 runs scored, one stolen base and a .282/.340/.508 slash line over 63 contests this season. He's topped the 20-homer mark just twice in his first nine major-league seasons, but he's on pace to do it for the second year in a row.
