  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Nearing running progression

Lux (knee) said Thursday that he's on track to begin a running program early next week, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Lux is progressing more quickly than anticipated in his recovery from March 8 surgery to repair the ACL and LCL tears in his right knee, though the expectation remains that he will not appear in a game for the Dodgers this season. Miguel Rojas continues to serve as the primary shortstop in Los Angeles.

  • Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL

    Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Sitting Thursday

Dubon isn't in the Astros' lineup Thursday against Washington.

After going 2-for-9 with a home run during Houston's first two games against the Nationals, Dubon will sit out the series finale Thursday. Chas McCormick will take over in left field and bat leadoff.

  • Zach Remillard 2B | CHW

White Sox's Zach Remillard: Added to roster

The White Sox selected Remillard's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Daryl Van Schowen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Remillard is batting .236/.344/.354 with five homers in 59 games at Charlotte this season. The 29-year-old can play all over the field and will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Slugs 15th homer

Albies went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of the Tigers.

After reaching base three times in the matinee on two walks and a single, Albies flexed his muscles in the nightcap, launching a Michael Lorenzen changeup deep to right field in the second inning for his 15th homer of the year. The switch-hitting second baseman has caught fire in June, and over his last 10 games he's batting .333 (12-for-36) with four long balls, two steals, eight RBI and 10 runs.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Sitting versus lefty

Julien is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Tigers.

Julien started each of the first four games after his recall and was in the leadoff spot every time. Those were against right-handers, though, and the left-handed batter will begin Thursday on the bench versus southpaw Matthew Boyd. Kyle Farmer will be at second base.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Back in lineup Thursday

Marte (back) is in the starting lineup Thursday versus the Phillies.

Marte will play second base and bat second against the Phillies and right-hander Aaron Nola as he returns in full from a bit of lower-back tightness. He drew a walk off the bench Wednesday and is slashing .280/.353/.473 with nine homers and six steals through 63 games this year.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Swipes bag in extra-inning win

Estrada went 2-for-5 with two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-5 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Estrada twice put the Giants ahead with an RBI single -- once in the first inning and again in the 10th. He's gone 11-for-40 (.275) over nine games since returning from a wrist injury earlier in June. The second baseman has provided ample power and speed (nine home runs, 15 steals) while slashing .296/.347/.485 over 251 plate appearances this season.

  • Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Registers three hits in win

Merrifield went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a steal in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Orioles.

Merrifield continues to swing a hot bat in June, recording three hits in Wednesday's win over the Orioles, including an RBI double in the top of the eighth to give the Jays a 2-0 lead. The second baseman is batting .386 this month with five multi-hit games, though he's still sitting at just two home runs on the season. He'll also look to extend current six-game hitting streak when Toronto takes on Baltimore in the final game of the road series Thursday.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Thriving at plate in Vegas

Diaz, who went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in Triple-A Las Vegas' win over Reno on Wednesday, owns a .308 average and .913 OPS across the 72 plate appearances he's logged in 16 games since being demoted to the Aviators.

Diaz appeared in 24 games with the Athletics between April 19 and May 21, producing a .217/.250/.406 slash line with nine extra-base hits and eight RBI across 72 plate appearances. The 22-year-old is taking advantage of the Pacific Coast League's hitter-friendly conditions since returning to the farm and could well see some playing time at the keystone in the majors again later in the summer at the expense of veteran Jace Peterson.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Sitting against lefty

Frazier is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Blue Jays.

With Yusei Kikuchi taking the hill for Toronto, the Orioles are going with Joey Ortiz at second base. Frazier is batting just .188/.291/.333 versus left-handers this season.
