Castro isn't starting Friday against the Angels, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

With left-hander Patrick Sandoval scheduled to pitch Friday for Los Angeles, Castro will remain on the bench to begin the game. Coco Montes will start at second base and bat seventh in Castro's absence.

Miller isn't in the Brewers' lineup Friday against the Guardians.

Miller is just 1-for-22 in his last eight games and will take a seat Friday amid his slump. Luis Urias will shift to second base in Miller's place, moving Brian Anderson to third base and Raimel Tapia in as Milwaukee's right fielder, batting seventh.

Julien isn't in the Twins' lineup Friday against Detroit, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Left-hander Joey Wentz will start on the mound for Detroit on Friday, meaning the lefty-hitting Julien will begin in the dugout. Kyle Farmer will take over at second base and bat fifth.

Kim went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and two walks in Thursday's 10-0 win against San Francisco.

The 27-year-old infielder went deep in the fourth inning for his first long ball since May 24, a span of 25 games. Kim has been contributing in other ways, however, posting a healthy .279 batting average and 11.3 percent walk rate along with 12 runs and four thefts through 20 games in June.

Gonzales was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Stephen J. Nesbitt of The Athletic reports.

Gonzales will join the Pirates in Miami and will be poised to make his major-league debut some time this weekend. The 24-year-old has produced a .257 batting average with six homers, 27 RBI, 38 runs and a stolen base over 218 at-bats in 57 games for Triple-A Indianapolis this season. Gonzales was selected in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft but has seen his prospect status diminish in the last couple years due to injuries and a hit tool that hasn't developed as quickly as the organization hoped. He could still get a long look in the majors as the Pirates try to find a long-term solution at second base.

Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Athletics.

This was Gimenez's first successful steal since May 17 -- he was caught stealing twice over his last 30 games. The second baseman has steadied himself, going 7-for-27 (.259) over his last seven contests. He's had trouble with consistency this year, and he now has a .241/.305/.369 slash line with five home runs, 26 RBI, 31 runs scored and eight thefts over 71 games. Despite the uninspiring batting numbers, he's maintained a near-everyday role.

Marte went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run during Thursday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.

The 29-year-old went deep during the seventh inning to give Arizona a four-run advantage, which proved pivotal since Washington rallied for a couple late runs. Marte extended his on-base streak to 16 games and is hitting .328 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 20 runs and a 14:9 BB:K during that span.

Arroyo is not in Thursday's lineup against the Twins.

David Hamilton and Pablo Reyes will man the middle infield spots while Arroyo and Enrique Hernandez open the game on the bench. Arroyo has seven hits in nine at-bats over his last two games and should still be a prominent option at the keystone going forward.

Kemp went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs in a loss to the Guardians on Wednesday.

Kemp authored one of two multi-hit efforts for the Athletics on the night, extending his hitting streak to six games in the process. As rotten a string of luck at the plate as the veteran endured over most of the first two plus-months of the season, the pendulum seems to have swung completely in the opposite direction. With the help of a massive boost in hard-contact rate from 21.2 percent to 46.7 percent, Kemp is sporting an astounding .538 BABIP during his current hot stretch that thoroughly dwarfs the .163 figure he was saddled with from Opening Day through June 14.

Kim went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Kim has hit safely in the last six games he's started, going 10-for-23 (.435) with two steals, two RBI and four runs scored in that span. The second baseman now has a career-high 13 steals through just 70 contests on the year. He's been solid overall, slashing .250/.337/.364 with five home runs, 21 RBI, 30 runs scored and 10 doubles while maintaining a starting role at the keystone.
