Jose Caballero 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jose Caballero: Enjoys rare power display Tuesday
Caballero went 2-for-4 with two home runs, a walk and three total RBI in Tuesday's 13-3 rout over Tampa Bay.
The Yankees tied a franchise record with nine total home runs in the romp, with three different players clubbing two long balls apiece. Caballero was the least likely of those three -- coming into the contest, he had gone 50 games since his last home run and had belted just two over 96 games on the season. The unexpected power display was another notch in what has been an explosive four-game stretch for the utility man. Caballero has started in each of those four contests at three different positions (right field, shortstop and third base) while going a scorching 7-for-15 at the plate with six runs, four RBI and four stolen bases. While he doesn't have an everyday spot in the lineup and is part of a crowded roster, Caballero's hot stretch has made it hard for the manager Aaron Boone to leave him out of the starting nine.

Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW
White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Scores three times
Vargas went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, one RBI and three runs scored Tuesday against Atlanta.
Vargas has started all seven games since returning from the injured list, with Tuesday marking his third multi-hit effort in that span. He also extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 8-for-21 with an RBI, two doubles and four runs scored.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Belts homer in loss
Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and a second run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Ramirez has gone 16-for-65 (.246) over 17 contests in August, though he's also posted an 8:8 BB:K while adding five homers and five steals this month. The third baseman doesn't have to hit for a high average to remain productive in nearly every other category. For the season, he's at 26 long balls, 36 steals, 66 RBI, 81 runs scored, 23 doubles, two triples and a .291/.365/.518 slash line through 122 contests. His .883 OPS is his highest since 2021, though he hasn't been under .800 for a whole year since 2015.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Remaining on bench
Jung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
It's the third straight game on the bench for Jung, who has a .179/.238/.308 slash line and 28.6 percent strikeout rate through 12 games in August. Josh Smith will instead man third base while Rowdy Tellez receives another start at first.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Sitting out with sore ankle
Westburg (ankle) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.
Westburg exited Monday's contest with right ankle discomfort, so it's not a surprise he's sitting out Tuesday, especially with the Orioles having an off day Wednesday. He's considered day-to-day. Luis Vazquez is starting at third base and batting eighth Tuesday.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Getting day off Tuesday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in his appearance on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that McMahon will be out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.
McMahon will get his second day off overall and first day off against a right-handed starter (Shane Baz) since he was acquired from the Rockies on July 25. Jose Caballero will play third base and bat ninth Tuesday.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Snaps mini-skid
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
Ramirez's first-inning single snapped an 0-for-11 funk over the previous three games, the second-longest slump of the season for the third baseman. The steal was his 36th of the season.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Belts 12th homer in win
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-3 win over Texas.
Garcia has put together a five-game hitting streak, and he now has at least one hit in nine of his last 10 outings. The 25-year-old speedster is enjoying a career season in 2025 -- Garcia is slashing .302/.363/.473 with 12 homers, 56 RBI, 59 runs scored and 22 stolen bases over 510 plate appearances. He's also three RBI away from establishing a career-high mark.
