Rafael Devers 3B | BOS
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Return planned for Friday
Devers (shoulders) is expected to return to the lineup Friday, MLB.com reports. "Raffy should DH [Friday], DH [on] Saturday and play the field on Sunday," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday.
Devers had been playing through discomfort in both shoulders before sitting out the last three games. It's been a recurring issue since he first tweaked his left shoulder while swinging in a game during spring training. He also hurt his right shoulder in July while diving for a grounder during a game in Colorado. It hasn't impacted his performance at the plate though, and through 517 plate appearances he's posted a career-high .940 OPS with 28 homers and 80 RBI.

Garcia singled and stole second in his first trip to the plate, and he was later thrown out while attempting to swipe a second bag after drawing a walk in the fifth. The third baseman has hit safely in four straight games, batting .500 (7-for-14) with three RBI, four runs and three stolen bases. Garcia has also logged multiple hits in three of his last six games.

Ernie Clement SS | TOR
Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Drives in run, swipes bag in win
Clement went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a stolen base in Thursday's win over Boston.
Clement went hitless in his first two at-bats before driving home Addison Barger with a double in the top of the sixth innings to extend Toronto's lead to two runs. The shortstop would later add a single before stealing his 10th base of the season, giving him his seventh multi-hit performances this month. Clement has now driven in nine runs over his last 10 games, though he's batting just .216 (8-for-37) over that stretch.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Ejected Thursday
Bregman was ejected from Thursday's game against the Royals, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Bregman struck out on three pitches in the fourth inning, all of them looking. He took exception with at least one of the calls and departed the game after going 0-for-2. Shay Whitcomb took over at third base.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Still doing on-field work
Westburg (hand) has continued to take one-handed swings and fielding grounders, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Westburg was cleared for the activity Aug. 20 and has continued to do on-field work to avoid getting too rusty as he recovers from a broken hand. He remains in a cast but is expected to return before the regular season concludes.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Swipes two bags in win
Jung went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in Thursday's 2-1 win over the White Sox.
Jung stole second base in the fifth inning and then swiped third base in the seventh. It was his first career game with multiple stolen bases, which is no surprise since he entered Thursday's game with only four career steals. The multi-hit game was a welcome sight, as Jung had gone 5-for-30 over his previous eight games. The 26-year-old is hitting .228 in 26 games since his return from injury late in July.

Rafael Devers 3B | BOS
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Still out Thursday
Devers (shoulder) isn't in Boston's lineup for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays.
Devers will miss the third game in a row Thursday as he continues to recover from soreness in both of his shoulders. Nick Sogard will get the starting nod at third base in his place, while Mickey Gasper will cover second.

Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Homers in loss
Chisholm went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a stolen base and a walk in a loss to the Nationals on Wednesday.
Chisholm put the Yankees on the board with a second-inning solo shot, but New York scored only once more in the defeat. The long ball was Chisholm's second in his past three games and pushed his season total to a career-high 22. Chisholm has looked fine at the plate since returning from an elbow injury last Friday, going 6-for-22 (.273 average) with four extra-base hits, three runs and three RBI across six contests.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Getting breather Wednesday
Lewis is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus Atlanta.
Lewis is going through a rare slump at the plate, having posted a .458 OPS with no home runs and a 16:2 K:BB over his last 55 plate appearances. He'll get a day off to reset. Jose Miranda will start at third base for the Twins on Wednesday.

Rafael Devers 3B | BOS
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Held out again Wednesday
Devers (shoulders) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Devers is battling soreness in both shoulders and will receive a second straight day off. Shoulder problems have plagued him off and on this season, but at this point, the Red Sox are viewing Devers as day-to-day. Romy Gonzalez will once again pick up a start at third base in Devers' stead.
