The Angels activated Goodrum on Friday.

Goodrum had been with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate when he was DFA'd and later claimed by the Angels, but he will return to the majors as a replacement for Ehire Adrianza (back), who landed on the injured list Friday. Goodrum has experience at every position other than catcher, though he will likely return to the minors once Los Angeles' heavily depleted infield -- which is also missing Brandon Drury (hamstring), Luis Rengifo (illness) and others -- gets healthier.

The Angels placed Adrianza on the 10-day injured list Friday with back spasms, retroactive to Thursday.

Adrianza reported having problems with his lower back Friday, and the issue is apparently severe enough to warrant a trip to the injured list. Niko Goodrum will join the active roster to take Adrianza's spot after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Davis isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Davis went 2-for-6 and scored three times during Wednesday's doubleheader against Texas, and he will get an extended rest period as the A's begin their series with Seattle. Tyler Soderstrom will fill the void at first base and bat sixth.

Adrianza said Friday that he has experienced issues with his lower back, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

It's uncertain whether or not Adrianza will require a trip to the injured list, but he said he received an MRI on Friday, which should help determine how long he may be out for. The 34-year-old has played in eight games since joining the Angels in late April, slashing .192/.250/.346 with two RBI in 28 plate appearances.

LeMahieu (foot) took batting practice on the Yankee Stadium field Wednesday and will travel with the club on its upcoming road trip to Tampa, per MLB.com.

In addition to swinging the bat, LeMahieu has also been fielding ground balls as he works his way back from the non-displaced right foot fracture he suffered March 16. By traveling with New York on its next road trip, he'll be able to take live at-bats and do infield work at the team's training complex, which happens to be in Tampa. Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that the club intends to ramp up LeMahieu's "baseball activities all week" and indicated that the veteran infielder could potentially start a minor-league rehab assignment soon thereafter.

Cabrera is out of the lineup Friday against Tampa Bay.

Cabrera will give up third base duties to Jon Berti, who will bat ninth against the Rays. In 130 plate appearances, Cabrera is slashing .256/.300/.397 with four homers and two stolen bases.

Kessinger (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Kessinger spent the minimum 10 days on the injured list recovering from shoulder discomfort before being activated Friday. In a corresponding move, Jacob Amaya was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land. Kessinger made just one start with the Astros in April before his IL stint.

The Yankees transferred Peraza (shoulder) from Single-A Tampa to Double-A Somerset on Friday.

Peraza went 2-for-5 with a homer, two walks and three runs in two games at Single-A and will now move his rehab assignment to the Double-A level. The 23-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in late February and was shut down in early March, so he likely still needs a significant number of at-bats in the minors before being cleared to come off the injured list.

Garcia went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Angels.

The 24-year-old singled in the top of the third inning before coming around to score on a Vinnie Pasquantino home run. Garcia later added two doubles to give him his first three-hit performance of the season. The third baseman has now hit safely in four consecutive games and in six of eight to open the month of May, tallying four RBI and four runs scored over that latter stretch. However, he hasn't stolen a base since April 30.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the White Sox on Thursday.

Cleveland was held scoreless until Ramirez belted a 409-foot solo shot in the eighth inning. The All-Star third baseman has gone deep three times over his past five games, pushing his total to eight homers on the season. He's slashing just .238/.282/.450 but ranks fifth in the majors with 31 RBI while adding 25 runs and five stolen bases.
