Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Taking seat Monday
Garcia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
Garcia took a seat in back-to-back games for the first time all year Wednesday and Friday but returned to the lineup for a pair of games against the Reds over the weekend. Once again, the 24-year-old is absent from the starting nine, giving way to Paul DeJong at third base Monday.

Alex Bregman 3B | HOU
Astros' Alex Bregman: Held out again Monday
Bregman (elbow) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Bregman will hit the bench for a fourth straight game due to swelling in the back of his right elbow. According to MLB.com, manager Joe Espada said that Bregman has resumed hitting in the batting cage and taking ground balls, but Rome speculates that the third baseman could nonetheless remain out of the lineup until the beginning of the Astros' road trip Thursday in Baltimore. Shay Whitcomb will get another start at third base Monday in place of Bregman.

Josh Rojas 2B | SEA
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Belts seventh homer
Rojas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run in a win over the Pirates on Sunday.
Rojas delivered his first home run of August in the fourth inning to extend the Mariners' lead to 5-0 at the time. The multi-hit effort was Rojas' first since the last time he'd left the yard July 31, and it snapped an 0-for-12 slump that had encompassed his previous four games. Despite the productive day Sunday, Rojas' bat has lost almost all of its early-season sizzle, as he's carrying a .198 average and .599 OPS over the 62 games he's played since June 1.

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Back in lineup
Smith started at third base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning win over Minnesota.
Smith, who was given a break Saturday after starting eight games in seven days, was back in the lineup and stole his eighth base. A strong first half put him on fantasy radars, but a .202/.264/.294 line since the All-Star break is more in line with Smith's production from previous seasons.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Provides two key hits in win
Jung went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Twins.
Jung put the Rangers ahead for the first time with a seventh-inning solo shot. That lead didn't hold, but he added a single in the 10th inning that forced an error and led to the winning run scoring. Jung has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, going 11-for-43 (.256) in that span, though his homer was his first since Aug. 4. The third baseman is slashing .274/.295/.476 with four homers, nine RBI, eight runs scored, three doubles, a triple and one stolen base over 21 contests this season.

Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Resumes fielding
Chisholm (elbow) was spotted taking grounders at third base prior to Sunday's game against the Tigers, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Chisholm has spoken optimistically about his potential return from the injured list and this signifies a significant step in his recovery. He is also expected to resume swinging a bat soon.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Absence continuing Sunday
Rendon (elbow) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
The 34-year-old will sit for the second straight game after being hit by a pitch on the right elbow Friday. Rendon isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list, but he may need another day or two before rejoining the lineup. Brandon Drury will shift to the hot corner Sunday while Michael Stefanic receives a start at second base.
-
Royce Lewis 3B | MIN
Twins' Royce Lewis: Not starting Sunday
Lewis is absent from Sunday's lineup against Texas.
Lewis will retreat to the dugout for the series finale after going 3-for-11 with two walks and three strikeouts over the first three games against the Rangers. Jose Miranda will start at third base and bat second against Texas right-hander Tyler Mahle.

Alex Bregman 3B | HOU
Astros' Alex Bregman: On bench again Sunday
Bregman (elbow) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
It's the third straight game on the bench for Bregman due to swelling in the back of his right elbow, which surfaced after he slept on it awkwardly. Bregman should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Red Sox. Shay Whitcomb will receive another start at the hot corner Sunday for Houston.

Matthew Lugo 3B | LAA
Angels' Matthew Lugo: Shut down with apparent hand injury
Triple-A Salt Lake transferred Lugo from its 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday while he recovers from an apparent hand injury, Jared Tims of TalkinHalos.com reports.
The Angels aren't required to shed light on Lugo's injury, but Tims suggests that the outfielder hurt his thumb while trying to make a defensive play in his organizational debut Aug. 2. Lugo, whom the Angels acquired from the Red Sox ahead of the trade deadline, went 2-for-5 with a home run and a double in his lone game for Salt Lake and will now be shut down for the season as a result of moving to the 60-day IL.
