  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Receives Sunday off

LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

The veteran infielder batted leadoff in the first two games of the season and will take a seat for the series finale after going 2-for-8 with a double, an RBI, a run and five strikeouts. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will enter the lineup in LeMahieu's place while Gleyber Torres takes over atop the order.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Poor start to season

Bregman went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Saturday's win over the White Sox.

Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez have paced the Astros' offense early this season, but Bregman is now 0-for-12 through three games. He has reached base once on a walk and came around to score in that lone trip on base Friday. Bregman has posted an OPS of at least .800 in five of the last six seasons, so there's no reason to panic despite the slow start.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Nabs first steal

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Saturday in a 2-0 win over Seattle.

Ramirez has gotten off to a somewhat slow start in 2023 -- through three games, he's batted 3-for-13, though two of the hits have gone for extra bases. Fantasy managers who drafted the star third baseman early in the first round this season likely did so for his ability to steal bases, and Ramirez came through in that regard Saturday with his first theft of the campaign. He's looking for his third straight campaign of 20-plus steals, and that streak extends back to 2018 if excluding the dramatically shortened 2020 season.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Angels' Gio Urshela: Collects three hits Saturday

Urshela went 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs and two RBI in a 13-1 win against the Athletics on Saturday.

Urshela played a major role in the Angels' 11-run third inning, singling as the second batter in the frame and later driving in two runs with a one-out single. The veteran has started at shortstop in each of Los Angeles' first two games of the campaign, going a collective 5-for-8 thus far.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Clubs first homer of 2023

Donaldson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Giants.

His eighth-inning blast off Taylor Rogers -- Donaldson's first homer of the year -- brought the Yankees to within a run, only for the Giants to tack on some insurance in the top of the ninth. The 37-year-old third baseman may not have much left in the tank after a rough 2022 that saw him hit only 15 homers in 132 games with a career-low .682 OPS, but Donaldson is still capable of punishing a mistake.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Strikes out five times

Urias went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts in Saturday's loss to Boston.

The Orioles were able to score eight runs during Saturday's game, but they didn't get much help from the leadoff spot. The 28-year-old infielder was able to pick up a pair of hits in the victory over Boston on Thursday, but that success didn't translate over whatsoever for Saturday's contest. It will be interesting to see if Urias is back at the top of the lineup against left-handers the next time out.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Hits first homer

Moncada went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Astros.

Moncada's second-inning solo shot off Jose Urquidy brought the White Sox to within one, but he didn't do much else at the plate, striking out three times and leaving six runners stranded. After grabbing four hits across his first two games, however, he's seemingly off to a hot start.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Getting treatment on left knee

Rendon may miss Sunday's game against the Athletics after receiving treatment on his left knee following Saturday's victory, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Rendon crashed into the tarp during Saturday's blowout win. Blum reports that the injury wasn't considered serious, but the Angels may take precaution with the third baseman in the early part of the season. Fantasy managers will want to check the Angels' lineup before Sunday's game against Oakland before placing Rendon in their lineup.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Not starting Saturday

Paredes will be on the bench Saturday against Detroit, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Paredes was the No. 3 hitter and third baseman against his former team Opening Day and went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Taylor Walls will take over at the hot corner Saturday.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Not in lineup

Peterson will sit Saturday against the Angels.

Peterson started at third base in the season opener and hit seventh. He went hitless in three at-bats. He'll sit Saturday against southpaw Patrick Sandoval, with Aledmys Diaz sliding to third base and Nick Allen taking Diaz's spot at shortstop.
