Chapman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Chapman's second-inning blast off Dallas Keuchel staked the Athletics to an early 1-0 lead, and starting pitcher Frankie Montas (one run allowed over seven innings) did his part to ensure Oakland led from wire to wire. Now up to 25 home runs on the campaign, Chapman has more or less met fantasy managers' expectations in the power department, but his totals of 70 runs and 68 RBI are somewhat disappointing after he recorded 102 and 91 in those respective categories during his last full season in 2019.

Moncada isn't starting Thursday's game against the Athletics, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Moncada drew starts in each of the last three games and went 3-for-12 with two doubles, a run, a walk and four strikeouts. Romy Gonzalez will take his place at the hot corner and bat sixth.

Sosa will sit Thursday against the Dodgers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Sosa had been moving ahead of the struggling Paul DeJong on the depth chart, though it's now been DeJong at shortstop in two of the last three games. Sosa has hit .400/.435/.675 over his last 12 games, however, so it's hard to see why the Cardinals would move him back into a bench role.

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Wednesday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Muncy connected on a sixth-inning solo shot off Adam Wainwright for his 31st long ball of the season. The first baseman ranks fourth in the National League in that department and has now surpassed the 30-homer mark in three of the past four campaigns. However, Muncy is batting only .200 (23-for-115) since the start of August.

Escobar went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two runs and a walk in the win Wednesday versus the Phillies.

Escobar launched a solo shot off of reliever Connor Brogdon in the sixth inning. It was his 25th of the season but only his third since joining the Brewers on July 28. He has posted a .301 batting average and 11 extra-base hits over 27 games with Milwaukee.

Hayes went 1-for-3 with a single, a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Tigers.

Hayes hit his way aboard in the first inning before swiping second off Matt Manning. The 24-year-old has now stolen two bags in as many nights off Detroit pitching. While he does have just six steals in 81 games this season, injuries have derailed what was supposed to be an explosive year for the Pirates' infielder. Hopefully 2022's version of Hayes will be closer to the one that pilfered 66 bags in 468 career minor-league games.

Bregman hit a solo home run in his only at-bat during Wednesday's 8-5 loss to Seattle.

The 27-year-old pinch hit for catcher Martin Maldonado in the ninth inning. While Bregman cut the deficit to three runs, Houston's offense stalled out from there. He extended his hitting streak to nine games, during which he's gone 13-for-33 (.394) with two homers, six RBI and four runs scored. For the year, the third baseman is batting .290/.371/.449 with nine long balls, 41 RBI, 44 runs scored and a stolen base in 310 plate appearances.

Duffy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Duffy will take a seat after he started each of the past six games while going 8-for-24 with two home runs, a stolen base, six RBI and four runs. David Bote's recent return from the injured list could limit Duffy's opportunities at second base moving forward, but the 30-year-old's ability to play all four infield spots should allow him to hold down at least a semi-regular spot in the Chicago lineup.

Peterson remains on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Before sitting out Tuesday's 10-0 win, Peterson slashed .295/.392/.364 with four runs, four RBI and a stolen base over a stretch of 13 consecutive starts. Peterson's ability to play all over the infield and outfield while getting on base at a high clip should help his case for receiving semi-regular work, but he won't have a clear path to an everyday role now that Avisail Garcia, Eduardo Escobar and Kolten Wong are all back in action after recently missing time.

Urias (upper leg) remains on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

Urias' sore right upper leg will keep him on the bench for the third straight game, but the Orioles are continuing to view his injury as a day-to-day concern. Kelvin Gutierrez will pick up another start at third base while Urias is on the bench.
