Urshela (groin) is expected to return from the injured list when first eligible Sunday, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Urshela has taken batting practice, ran the bases and taken part in agility drills over the last two days. The Yankees can use the expanded September rosters (as well as the team's natural depth) to avoid overtaxing the third baseman down the stretch.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said Tuesday that Candelario will play "a lot" at first base down the stretch, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Candelario slotted in at first base and the five hole in the batting order Tuesday against lefty Mike Montgomery, and he will occupy those same spots Wednesday against right-hander Jakob Junis. While his numbers at the major-league level are downright bad, Candelario had a .320/.416/.588 line in his 39 games with Triple-A Toledo this year. The Tigers have every reason to play Candelario over the likes of Jordy Mercer and John Hicks, to evaluate his standing on the roster.

Newman (leg) will not be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Newman is still feeling soreness in his leg, so he will not start for the third game in a row. He did test his leg a bit during pregame warmups, so it's possible he could be an option off the bench. It remains to be seen who will start at shortstop in Newman's place Wednesday, but one of Erik Gonzalez or Cole Tucker figures to get the nod.

LeMahieu is not in the lineup Wednesday against Texas.

LeMahieu sits after starting 18 games in a row. He hit a strong .295/.329/.513 over that stretch, though that's actually a step down from his impressive .331/.378/.531 season slash line. Tyler Wade starts at the hot corner.

Segura (personal) is back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Segura had been out of the lineup since Sunday for personal reasons. He didn't start Tuesday, but he wound up playing the majority of the game off the bench. He'll be involved from the start of the game Wednesday, batting fifth and playing shortstop.

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday in the Rockies' 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Arenado is enjoying a 10-game hitting streak, but it hasn't helped the Rockies' fortunes much with the team losing nine of those contests. Fantasy managers are certainly benefiting, however, and Arenado looks on track to wrap up the campaign with new personal bests in both home runs and batting average. His .312 average sits three points above his career-best mark from 2017, and he's just five homers away from matching his career-high 42 from 2015.

Suarez (hand) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies.

Suarez received good news in the form of a negative X-ray after getting hit in the hand by a pitch Sunday, but he'll nevertheless remain out of the lineup for the third straight game. Alex Blandino starts at third base.

Moncada had three walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over Cleveland.

Moncada, who has walked five times over the last two games, has been more aggressive at the plate in 2019, seeking out pitches he can drive even when they might be a little outside the zone. The result has been Moncada's best season to date and a slightly reduced walk rate. The strikeouts remain high -- he whiffed in his lone official at-bat Tuesday -- but the White Sox are reaping the benefits from his dangerous bat more often.

Chapman went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in the Athletics' 7-5 win over the Angels on Tuesday.

Chapman provided the crucial blow in the contest, cranking a three-run blast off Jaime Barria in the third inning for his 31st of the season. The 26-year-old's .258 average isn't spectacular, but he's more than made up for it with his career high in long balls, as well as 35 doubles and three triples to leave him with a .528 slugging percentage through 569 plate appearances.

Devers went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer Tuesday against the Twins.

Devers made his lone hit of the contest count, as he recorded his 29th home run. While he's gone hitless in five of his last 10 games, Devers has balanced that out with three multi-hit performances, six RBI and 11 runs in that span. In addition to his outstanding counting stat contributions, Devers has maintained a .320/.369/.579 line across 600 plate appearances for the season.
