Toro went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 2-0 victory against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

The 22-year-old was a late addition to the Astros lineup, and good thing he was. Not only did he account for the only runs of the game, but his homer in the ninth allowed Justin Verlander to complete his no-hitter in the bottom of the frame. Maybe the key homer will get him going, but through eight games, Toro is batting .207 with two homers, four RBI and six runs in 29 at-bats this year.

Suarez left the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals after being hit by a pitch on the back of his left hand, Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Suarez hit his 40th home run of the season in the matinee. Hopefully he'll have a chance to build on that number. After being plunked by a 93 mph fastball, Suarez was in visible pain and slammed his helmet as he began walking down the dugout steps. He will be examined in Cincinnati on Monday, per Nightengale.

Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Davis started the last 11 games and will head to the bench after posting a .768 OPS in that stretch. Jeff McNeil, Juan Lagares and Michael Conforto will start in the outfield from left to right Sunday.

Segura was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets after receiving news regarding the death of his grandmother, Bob Brookover of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Segura is apparently en route to the Dominican Republic to spend time with his grieving family, so the Phillies could end up placing him on the bereavement list Monday with the expectation that he'll miss multiple games. The Phillies added Brad Miller to Sunday's lineup in place of Segura, with Scott Kingery shifting over from third base to shortstop as a result.

Newman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Colorado.

Newman has a 1.450 OPS with 13 runs scored, three home runs and 10 RBI in his last eight games, but he'll take a seat in the series finale. Erik Gonzalez will start at shortstop and bat eighth in his absence.

Moustakas (wrist) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Moustakas remains on the bench for the fifth straight game as he continues battle left wrist soreness. The 31-year-old was unable to grip a bat when attempting to hit Friday, but according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Moustakas appears to be progressing as he took batting practice on the field Sunday.

Chapman went 2-for-5 with an RBI double, a walk and a run in an extra-innings loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Chapman's seventh-inning two-bagger with Robbie Grossman aboard snapped a 2-2 tie. Chapman showed a bit more life at the plate during August after a significant downturn in July, and with another seven round trippers during the month, he's reached the 30-homer threshold for the first time in his career.

Updating a previous report, Toro will start at third base and bat sixth Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Initially slated to get the day off, Toro will check back into the starting nine after Yuli Gurriel (wrist) was a late scratch. Aledmys Diaz will slide over across the diamond to first base to open up a spot at the hot corner for the rookie.

He'll sit for the second time in three days while Aledmys Diaz receives another start at the hot corner. Toro is off to a modest 5-for-25 start to his big-league career and may need to catch fire quickly in order to stave off Diaz for regular work.

The Twins reinstated Astudillo (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start at first base and bat eighth in the Twins' game against the Tigers.

Astudillo had been sidelined for the Twins' previous 56 games with a left oblique strain but has been healthy for a while now. He recently wrapped up a 14-game rehab assignment split between Triple-A Rochester and Double-A Pensacola, hitting .333 with four home runs. Now that he's back with the big club, Astudillo looks on track to serve as the team's No. 3 backstop and an occasional starter at either corner-infield spot during September.
