Phillies third baseman Cody Asche went 2 for 4 and scored his team's only run in a 4-1 loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

Asche improved his batting average to .256 for the season with two home runs and four RBI in 117 at-bats.

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado set the tone early in his team's 4-1 win over the Phillies on Sunday. 

Arenado slammed a two-tun home run in the first inning to give his team a 2-0 lead. He drove in second baseman DJ LeMahieu. Arenado finished the game going 1 for 4 with a home run and two RBI.

"We're just playing good ball right now," Arenado said to the Associated Press. "We're pitching great, we're driving in runs when we need to and we've had a lot of success doing that. ... And it's a lot of fun."

Arenado is hitting .285 with 12 home runs and 35 RBI in 176 at-bats this season.

"He's been a clutch hitter since he showed up at the Major League level," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said to MLB.com. "That's been his history. His first year he went through some growing pains just like young players do in this league, but he's always been a good hitter. That's been his track record, so this isn't surprising."

Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu said goodbye to the month of May with yet another scorching hot game. LeMahieu was 3 for 4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in his team's 4-1 win over the Phillies on Sunday. 

With his team leading by just one run in the fifth, LeMahieu smashed a two-run home run to left field, giving his team a 4-1 lead.

In his last 17 games, LeMahieu is hitting .349 with two home runs and 11 RBI.

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe went 2 for 4 with a two-run home run in his team's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Plouffe helped complete a comeback in the sixth inning, with his two-run shot evening the score at 4-4. The multihit performance was his fifth in his last seven games. Plouffe has hit .279/.352/.488 with eight home runs and 29 RBI in 172 at-bats.

Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson went 1 for 4 with a walk and a solo home run in his team's 6-5 loss to the Twins on Sunday.

After the Blue Jays lost a three-run lead in the sixth inning, Donaldson briefly put his team back on top with his homer in the top of the seventh. However, the Twins were able to score two runs in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead for good.

"I'll tell you what, he has been amazing," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said to MLB.com. "He's got that knack and that's why he's an elite player. That's not easy to do, consistently like he has been doing. Thank God we've got him."

Donaldson has homered six times in his last six games and now owns a .312/.372/.604 line with 15 home runs and 39 RBI in 202 at-bats.

Orioles third baseman Manny Machado went 3 for 5 with two home runs and three RBI in his team's 9-5 loss to the Rays on Sunday.

Machado's first homer came with a man on base and his team down 7-2 in the seventh inning, and he followed it up with a solo shot in the ninth. The third baseman hadn't homered since May 11 and hadn't even driven in a run in his previous nine games before exploding offensively on Sunday. Machado has hit .270/.333/.470 with eight home runs, 22 RBI and seven stolen bases in 185 at-bats.

Braves second baseman Jace Peterson was a sparkplug from the lead-off spot in Saturday's win over the Giants. Peterson had three hits in five at-bats, falling a home run shy of the cycle. He also scored three times and stole his sixth base of the season in the 8-0 victory.

The three-hit performance gives Peterson 10 hits in 40 at-bats over his last 10 games.

Brewers shortstop Jean Segura went 2 for 4 in Saturday's loss to Arizona. 

Segura also scored two of the team's three runs on the day. He's scored four runs in the last four games and has hit in three straight. 

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado continued his recent power surge in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Phillies. Arenado went 2 for 4 with his 11th home run of the year.

Arenado's solo shot in the top of the second tied the game at one. It was his fourth home run in his last six games.

Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson hit a three run home run to help lead Toronto to a win over Minnesota on Friday. 

Donaldson went 2 for 5. The homer was his 14th of the year and brought him to 38 RBI. He's now homered in four straight games.
