Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Move to paternity list official
The Giants officially placed Chapman (personal) on the paternity list Wednesday.
Chapman left the team prior to Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Orioles to observe the birth of his child, but the Giants waited until Wednesday before officially deactivating him. Casey Schmitt was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to provide some infield depth in the short term. Per MLB rules, Chapman will be away from the Giants for at least one game and as many as three while on the paternity list, so expected him to rejoin the club no later than Saturday.

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Drives in five runs Tuesday
Muncy went 3-for-5 with two doubles, five RBI and a stolen base in a loss to the Marlins on Tuesday.
Muncy plated over half of Los Angeles' runs in the high-scoring affair, knocking a two-run double in the third inning, a run-scoring single in the seventh and another two-run double in the ninth. The third baseman has driven in at least one run in six of his past nine contests and has a total of 10 RBI during that span. Since returning from the injured list Aug. 19, Muncy is slashing .250/.382/.583 with six home runs, 17 RBI, 16 runs, a stolen base and a 14:22 BB:K over 24 games.

Bryan Ramos 3B | CHW
White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Sitting in second straight game
Ramos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Ramos is on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Jack Kochanowicz) and may have lost hold of the primary gig at third base. Yoan Moncada (adductor) hasn't been a factor at the hot corner since being activated from the 60-day injured list Monday, but Miguel Vargas will occupy the position for the third day in a row.

Junior Caminero 3B | TB
Rays' Junior Caminero: Slugs fourth homer
Caminero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Caminero homered for the first time since Aug. 31, a span of 15 games. He hit only .241 across 58 at-bats in that time to go along with four doubles and a .623 OPS. Positively, Caminero has hit primarily third in the lineup and remains an everyday player for the Rays.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Powers offense Tuesday
Machado went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.
After getting shut out by Hunter Brown for five innings, Machado finally got the Padres on the board with a two-run homer to level the game in the sixth. He now has four homers, seven multi-hit performances and 16 RBI over his last 10 games. Machado started off slow this year with six homers and 33 RBI in the first 70 games, and over his last 73 games he's turned things around with 21 homers and 69 RBI while hitting for a .305 average.

Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN
Reds' Noelvi Marte: Helps in comeback win
Marte went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 win over Atlanta.
Marte contributed to the Reds' comeback from a 5-1 deficit with his sixth-inning double that plated two (one came home on a throwing error). He then stole his ninth bag of the season. It's been a down year for Marte, who never developed any sustained success at the plate after serving an 80-game suspension, but he's in the midst of an encouraging stretch, having gone 7-for-25 (.280) with four RBI and three steals over the last seven contests.

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Picks up 10th steal
Smith went 1-for-4 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 13-8 win over the Blue Jays.
Smith's steal was his 10th of the season. He's swiped two of those bags over 14 games in September while batting a poor .208 (11-for-53) for the month. Smith continues to see steady time at shortstop since Corey Seager (hip/sports hernia) was shut down for the year. Smith has a .260/.343/.396 slash line with 12 home runs, 57 RBI and 62 runs scored over 139 contests.

Ramos is not the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Ramos has begun seeing regular playing time, having started in seven straight games since Sept. 9. In that span, he went 5-for-26 with two home runs and three walks. With the 22-year-old getting to rest Tuesday, Miguel Vargas has the start at third and is batting ninth.
