Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Extends historic XBH streak
Muncy went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to Atlanta on Thursday.
Muncy gave the Dodgers an early lead with an RBI fielder's choice in the first inning and added a solo shot to bring the team to within one run in the eighth. That homer gave the veteran slugger an extra-base hit in nine straight games, tying a franchise record. Muncy has hit safely in 10 consecutive contests overall, slashing .341/.413/.707 with three homers, six doubles, 13 RBI and eight runs over that stretch.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Goes deep in victory
Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-7 win against the Dodgers.
Riley accounted for the final run in a six-run second inning for Atlanta with his solo shot to center field. The long ball was his third over his past six contests to bring his total to 32 on the campaign. Riley finished August with four consecutive multi-hit games and slashed .289/.348/.537 with eight homers, 18 RBI, 23 runs and one steal over 29 contests during the month.

Andre Lipcius 3B | CHW
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Set for callup
The Tigers will recall Lipcius on Friday.
Lipcius was impressive during spring training, posting a .909 OPS with three home runs across 41 at-bats. He's gone on to post a respectable season with Triple-A Toledo by maintaining a .272/.363/.412 line across 416 plate appearances, though that's translated to just a 96 wRC+. It's unclear what his role may be in Detroit, as both Matt Vierling and Zack Short are likely ahead of him on the third base depth chart.

Ildemaro Vargas 3B | ARI
Nationals' Ildemaro Vargas: Takes seat Thursday
Vargas isn't in the Nationals' lineup Thursday against Miami, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Although Vargas is slashing .268/.294/.476 against left-handed pitchers this season, he'll retreat to the bench against Braxton Garrett and the Marlins on Thursday. Michael Chavis will fill in at the keystone and bat seventh.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Returning to majors Friday
Baty will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday when major-league rosters expand, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Baty has struggled to a .212/.284/.332 batting line in 353 big-league plate appearances since his debut in late 2022, but the 23-year-old was a preseason top-100 prospect and continues to crush it at the Triple-A level. The out-of-contention Mets might as well give him regular looks at third base as they play out the string. Ronny Mauricio is also reportedly getting the call, but he can cycle in at second base, left field and maybe some shortstop.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Plates three runs Wednesday
Muncy went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and three RBI in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
Muncy didn't take long to extend his on-base streak and hitting streak to 11 and nine games, respectively. After walking in his first plate appearance in the bottom of the first inning, Muncy delivered a two-run double in his third trip to the plate in the fourth. Muncy closed August with a .253/.388/.494 slash line to go with four home runs, 18 RBI and 15 runs in 23 games.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Not in lineup Thursday
Peraza is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest in Detroit, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Peraza has taken over as the Yankees' regular third baseman since being promoted from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last week, but he'll begin the series finale in Detroit on the bench. Oswaldo Cabrera will occupy the hot corner as the Yankees go for the series sweep.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Continues power surge
LeMahieu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 6-2 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday.
LeMahieu belted a 411-foot solo shot in the second inning to give New York a 3-0 lead. It was the continuation of a surprising recent uptick in power by the veteran infielder, who has gone deep five times (all solo shots) over his past eight contests. Prior to the surge, LeMahieu had hit just eight homers over his initial 104 games this season.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Gets breather Wednesday
Hayes is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Royals.
Hayes has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball in recent weeks, boasting a .366/.422/.683 batting line with six home runs and 19 RBI over his last 20 games. He'll grab a routine night off Wednesday as Vinny Capra fills in at third base for the visiting Pirates.

Jonah Bride 3B | TEX
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Sitting again in favor of Diaz
Bride remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
Though he seemed to have supplanted Jordan Diaz as the Athletics' primary third baseman last week, Bride now finds himself on the bench for the fourth consecutive game. While starting each of the five games before that, Bride went 3-for-15 with a double and a pair of walks, so he didn't exactly stake a strong claim to a regular spot in the Oakland lineup.
