Padres' Manny Machado: Absent from Saturday's lineup
Machado isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Machado will grab a seat on the bench Saturday after going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's game. Jose Iglesias will pick up a start at third base and bat sixth while Machado rests.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Placed on IL
The Mets placed Baty on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a right oblique strain.
Baty departed Friday's game with pain in his side, and further testing revealed he's dealing with a strained right oblique. The Mets are still in the mix for the NL's final Wild Card spot, but they'll have to chase a postseason berth without Baty. The third baseman will be eligible for reinstatement Oct. 7, though it's unclear if he'll require more than the minimum stay. Jared Young was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

Mark Vientos DH | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Idle again
Vientos is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Miami.
Vientos will be on the bench for a second straight game as he works through a 4-for-34 (.118) slump across his last 11 games. Starling Marte will slot in at DH on Saturday.

Mets' Brett Baty: On bench Saturday

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Clubs 16th long ball
Westburg went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Yankees.
The Baltimore third baseman tallied his first homer since returning from an ankle injury Sept. 16 with a three-run shot off New York starter Will Warren in the third. This marks the 10th time Westburg has notched three or more hits in a game this season. Overall, the 26-year-old is now slashing .266/.314/.453 with 58 runs scored and 40 RBI over 344 plate appearances.

Junior Caminero 3B | TB
Rays' Junior Caminero: Slugs 45th homer
Caminero went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
The 22-year-old became the second player in franchise history to reach the 45-homer plateau, with the only other occurrence happening in 2007 when Carlos Pena cracked 46 long balls. Caminero launched a solo shot off Toronto starter Shane Bieber in the second to tie the game at 1-1. The Tampa Bay third baseman has been a steady source of power all season and is now slashing .262/.307/.536 with 110 RBI and 93 runs scored through 644 plate appearances.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Nursing injury
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Muncy has been dealing with a lower-body injury over the past couple of days, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The skipper noted that Muncy's injury has been affecting his swing, which explains why the slugging third baseman is set to miss a second consecutive start Friday. It remains unknown whether he'll make it back to the starting nine before the end of the regular season, but Muncy doesn't seem to be at risk of missing the start of Los Angeles' postseason run.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Exits Friday's game
Baty was removed in the second inning of Friday's game against the Marlins due to a side injury, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.
Baty came up with the injury during his plate appearance in the top of the first inning and appeared to aggravate it on a throw to third base in the bottom of the frame. Ronny Mauricio has entered the game at third base.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not in Friday's lineup
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
The lefty-hitting Muncy is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game, even with the Mariners sending right-hander George Kirby to the mound. That seems to be due in large part to the Dodgers clinching the NL West after Thursday's win against the Diamondbacks, as Muncy will be joined on the bench by Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Tommy Edman in Friday's series opener. Enrique Hernandez will start at third base and bat eighth.
