  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Steals base in win

Jung went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-2 win over the Royals.

Jung reached in the second on an infield hit and then walked in the fourth. He wound up swiping second for his first steal of the year and eventually came around to score. The 2019 first-round pick is living up to the billing early on in the season, slashing .288/.333/.492 with three home runs, nine RBI and 10 runs. He's also working on a seven-game hitting streak.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Power surge continues Tuesday

Burger went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run home run in a 3-0 win over the Phillies during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

After going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the matinee, Burger supplied the only offense in the nightcap by crushing a Bailey Falter fastball in the first inning. The 27-year-old has gone yard four times in the last five games, and since his early-April promotion Burger is batting .308 (8-for-26) with five homers and 10 RBI. He could be tough to dislodge from the lineup, even after Yoan Moncada (back) is ready to return.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Giants' J.D. Davis: Tallies three hits

Davis went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Marlins.

Davis has multiple hits in three of his last four games. He's added six RBI and two runs scored in that span, but he wasn't involved in the Giants' lone run-producing play Tuesday, which was a two-run home run by Mike Yastrzemski in the first inning. Davis is slashing .347/.389/.633 with four home runs, 13 RBI, seven runs scored and two doubles through 54 plate appearances. His solid hitting has earned him a near-everyday role to begin 2023.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Continues slow April

Miranda went 0-for-5 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Red Sox. He's hitting .209 (14-for-67) with just two extra-base hits in 17 games this season.

Miranda is off to a slow start, but there's been no sign of him potentially losing his job as he's been a fixture at third base. He's making contact (18.4% K%) and has a .286 xBA (according to Baseball Savant), so there is some hope for a turnaround soon.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Four hits, two homers in win

Walls went 4-for-5 with a triple, two home runs, four RBI and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 10-0 victory over the Reds.

Walls had a massive night Tuesday, homering from each side of the plate while coming a double shy of the cycle in the Rays' blowout victory. The switch-hitting utility infielder has played 10 games for Tampa Bay this season, slashing .351/.429/.730 with seven RBI and 15 runs scored through 37 at-bats. Walls' has gotten the majority of starts at second base against left-handed pitching, and his positional versatility should earn him a fairly regular role in a potent Rays lineup.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Still dealing with tightness

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Donaldson (hamstring) is still dealing with tightness and will be evaluated Wednesday before a decision is made on when he might return from the 10-day injured list, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Donaldson went 1-for-3 in the first game of his rehab assignment Tuesday at Double-A Somerset before he was replaced by Delvin Perez. The veteran third baseman has a chance to return to the Yankees on Wednesday, but if he's still feeling tightness in his right hamstring, the club will wait another day or two before adding him back to the roster.

  • Brett Baty RF | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Not in starting lineup Tuesday

Baty is not in the Mets' lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Eduardo Escobar will start at third base and bat eighth versus left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Baty is a big-time talent but has struggled against left-handed pitching as a professional. He should start against most, if not all, right-handed hurlers.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Athletics' Jace Peterson: Returns to lineup

Peterson (wrist) is back in the lineup and hitting fifth while playing third base against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Peterson missed Monday's game while dealing with a wrist injury he suffered during Sunday's game against the Mets. Aledmys Diaz is the designated hitter for Tuesday's game and Jesus Aguilar will begin the contest on the bench.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Beginning rehab assignment

Donaldson (hamstring) has commenced a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset starting Tuesday.

Donaldson will get back on the field for the Patriots in Double-A before rejoining the Yankees as soon as Wednesday. The infielder should return to starting at third for the Yankees well before the end of the week at the latest.

  • Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI

Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Out of lineup Tuesday

Castro is not in the lineup Tuesday at Colorado.

Ji Hwan Bae will start at shortstop and bat seventh for the Pirates against the Rockies and right-hander Jose Urena. Tucupita Marcano is playing second base and hitting eighth.
