Victor Caratini C | MIN
Twins' Victor Caratini: Playing time fading
Caratini will start at catcher and bat cleanup Sunday against the Blue Jays.
After a recent stretch where he made 11 consecutive starts while moving between catcher, first base and designated hitter, Caratini has moved into more of a part-time role. Caratini will be included in the lineup for just the seventh time in the Twins' last 15 games, stepping in behind the plate while top backstop Ryan Jeffers receives the afternoon off.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Resting up Sunday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
With Sunday's series finale beginning at 12:45 p.m. ET, Jeffers will receive a breather after he made starts at catcher or designated hitter each of the past four days. Byron Buxton will serve as the Twins' DH on Sunday, while Victor Caratini steps in behind the dish.

Dillon Dingler C | DET
Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Hits key home run in win
Dingler went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Rangers.
Dingler teed off with two out and two on in the first inning to stake Detroit to a 3-0 lead, giving the team all the offense it would need in the win. The catcher has cooled off some after a hot start, as he's batting just .184 over his last 10 games compared to .302 through the first 19 games of the year. Dingler's overall stat line still looks good with an .825 OPS, six home runs and 23 RBI across 29 contests.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Requires imaging
Raleigh, who was scratched from the lineup Saturday, is dealing with "general soreness" that requires imaging, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
The Mariners aren't sharing much regarding the issue plaguing Raleigh. Clearly, there is some level of concern if imaging was ordered. Raleigh has hit seven home runs this season, but overall his numbers are way down from last year's AL MVP runner-up campaign, as he's slashing .186/.272/.380 over 147 plate appearances in 2026.

Shea Langeliers C | ATH
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Goes yard twice in losing effort
Langeliers went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 14-6 loss to the Guardians.
Both long balls came off Slade Cecconi, a two-run blast in the first inning and a solo shot in the fifth, but it wasn't enough on an awful afternoon for the A's pitching staff. Langeliers extended his hitting streak to seven games with the performance, a stretch in which he's batting .469 (15-for-32) with seven extra-base hits to boost his slash line on the season to .336/.390/.627 with 10 homers, 18 RBI and 24 runs in 32 contests.

Jhonny Pereda C | SEA
Mariners' Jhonny Pereda: Recalled by Seattle
The Mariners recalled Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Pereda was unable to crack the Mariners' Opening Day roster but has played well in Triple-A, where he is slashing .333/.418/.436 with two home runs and eight RBI across 91 plate appearances. The move gives the Mariners a third catcher on the 26-man roster, which is notable after Cal Raleigh was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Royals due to undisclosed reasons. Will Wilson (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Austin Hedges C | CLE
Guardians' Austin Hedges: Huge day in Saturday's rout
Hedges went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 14-6 win over the A's.
The backup catcher belted his first homer of the season in the third inning off Jacob Lopez, and the three extra-base hits were a career high for a single game. Hedges has been surprisingly productive this season in limited playing time, slashing .325/.364/.500 over 40 plate appearances with three RBI and 10 runs.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Scratched from Saturday's lineup
Raleigh (undisclosed) is no longer in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Royals on Saturday.
The Mariners have yet to announce why Raleigh was removed from the lineup, but it will be Mitch Garver who will start behind home plate and bat eighth in Saturday's contest. Raleigh has struggled to a .186/.272/.380 slash line with two steals, seven home runs and 18 RBI across 147 plate appearances this season.

Willson Contreras C | BOS
Red Sox's Willson Contreras: Extends hit streak to seven games
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and a run scored during the Red Sox's 6-3 loss to the Astros on Saturday.
Contreras got the Red Sox on the board with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, and he extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in the seventh frame. Over that seven-game span, Contreras has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with three home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored. He is up to 21 RBI on the season, which is tied for 10th-most in the American League.

Brandon Valenzuela C | TOR
Blue Jays' Brandon Valenzuela: Knocks third homer
Valenzuela went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk Saturday in an 11-4 victory versus Minnesota.
Valenzuela had the biggest hit in an eight-run eighth inning for Toronto, mashing a three-run homer to center field. Saturday marked the rookie backstop's third start behind the plate over the Blue Jays' past four games, and he's gone 4-for-9 with two home runs and four RBI during that span. Valenzuela seems to be building momentum over Tyler Heineman as Toronto's primary catcher while Alejandro Kirk (thumb) remains sidelined.
