Alex Jackson C | MIN
Twins' Alex Jackson: DFA'd by Minnesota
The Twins designated Jackson for assignment Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
With both Ryan Jeffers and Victor Caratini healthy, Jackson is the odd man out on Minnesota's 26-man roster. Jackson has appeared in 29 games for the Twins this season, slashing a solid .303/.333/.409 with one homer, five RBI, 11 runs scored and a 1:23 BB:K across 69 plate appearances.

Elias Diaz C | TEX
Rangers' Elias Diaz: Breather Thursday
Diaz is not in the starting lineup Thursday night against the Angels, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Diaz will head to the bench after going 1-for-4 in the team's 5-2 loss Wednesday. The 35-year-old continues to rotate behind the plate with Austin Wynns while Kyle Higashioka (forearm) is on the injured list. Wynns will start at catcher and bat eighth in the series finale.

Kyle Teel C | CHW
White Sox's Kyle Teel: Could start rehab by end of August
White Sox manager Will Venable said Thursday that Teel's (ankle) current progress should have him ready to begin a rehab assignment before the end of August, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Teel is a little more than three weeks into a projected 6-to-12 week timetable as he works his way back from a left high-ankle sprain. He's currently running at about 80 percent and is expected to be cleared to hit off the Trejekt machine soon. The six-week mark in Teel's recovery would be Sept. 1, and it seems he has a good shot to be back around that time. However, the young catcher still has several boxes to check before a possible return date comes into focus.

Austin Wells C | NYY
Yankees' Austin Wells: Held out of lineup
Wells is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.
Wells had started each of the previous nine contests, so he's earned a day off for Thursday's matinee. Ali Sanchez will fill in for Wells behind the dish.

Patrick Bailey C | CLE
Guardians' Patrick Bailey: On bench again Thursday
Bailey is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Detroit.
It's the second straight day on the bench for Bailey, who is hitless across his last four contests. Austin Hedges will grab another start at catcher in Thursday's rubber match.

Liam Hicks C | TB
Rays' Liam Hicks: Sparks offense in Wednesday's win
Hicks went 3-for-5 with a double and a three-run home run in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the A's.
Hicks' fourth-inning shot off Jack Perkins broke open what had been a close contest, and it gave the former Marlin his second homer in eight games as a member of the Rays. Since coming over to the AL, Hicks has gone 8-for-26 (.308) with three doubles, three runs, nine RBI and an impressive 4:1 BB:K.

Drew Romo C | CHW
White Sox's Drew Romo: Pops homer in win
Romo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Reds.
Romo hit a solo shot in the third inning and an RBI single in the eighth. Prior to the two-RBI effort, Romo had gone 0-for-13 with five strikeouts over his first four games in August. Since Joey Bart joined Kyle Teel (ankle) on the injured list Friday after fracturing his right hand, Romo has made two starts to Edgar Quero's three, though all of Quero's have come against left-handed pitching. The two backstops will likely continue to split time fairly equitably, though Wednesday's performance could boost Romo's chances of emerging as the preferred option against right-handed pitching. For the season, Romo is batting just .136 with a .508 OPS, six home runs, 13 RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base over 48 contests.

Connor Wong C | BOS
Red Sox's Connor Wong: Role shrinking with Rutschman back
Wong is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Wong is on the bench for the second straight game and is expected to see his playing time take a major hit after the Red Sox activated their big trade-deadline pickup, Adley Rutschman, off the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Rutschman should handle a near-everyday role behind the plate now that he's healthy again, likely leaving Wong in line for little more than a start or two per week.
