Eric Haase C | SF
Indians' Eric Haase: Joins big club
The Indians recalled Haase from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Though top backstop Roberto Perez was diagnosed with a concussion following his departure from Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Athletics, he's already made noteworthy progress in his recovery and isn't expected to require a stint on the 7-day injured list. That said, Perez is unlikely to be available for at least a couple days, so Haase will move up to the big club to provide some extra depth at catcher behind Kevin Plawecki.

Michael Perez C | BAL
Rays' Michael Perez: Making progress
Perez (oblique) is doing some catching and has been limited to hitting off a tee thus far in his rehab, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Perez is still feeling some discomfort when swinging and so he has not progressed past tee work. However, Toribio relays that Perez still feels he can be ready for activation within the next couple of weeks, although he'll naturally have to make significant progress over that span with respect to his ability to swing a bat unencumbered.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Smacks eighth homer
Narvaez went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
It's his fourth multi-hit performance in his last seven starts. Narvaez is now slashing .301/.373/.507 through 40 games with eight homers and 20 RBI, and he should continue to see the bulk of the work behind the plate for Seattle despite his less-than-exemplary defense.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Drives in four in win
Sanchez went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run, two runs and four RBI in the Yankees' 11-4 win over the Orioles on Tuesday.
Sanchez is locked in at the dish at the moment; this was his second straight game with a homer and four RBI and he has two multi-hit performances in his last three games. The 26-year-old backstop looks like he's put last season's well-documented struggles fully behind him, as he's sporting an excellent .263/.336/.653 slash line to go along with 14 homers and 30 RBI through 118 at-bats.

Roberto Perez C | BOS
Indians' Roberto Perez: Dealing with concussion
Perez was diagnosed with a concussion after leaving Tuesday's game against Oakland, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
The Indians won't place Perez on the 7-day injured list immediately, as manager Terry Francona believes the backstop is only dealing with a mild concussion. In any case, Kevin Plawecki should take over primary duties behind the plate while Perez is sidelined.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Taking light swings
Garver (ankle) took light swings and did some light jogging Tuesday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Garver landed on the 10-day injured list with the high left ankle sprain last week, and was originally given a 2-to-3 week recovery timetable. The 28-year-old could still return within that window but may also require a minor-league rehab assignment. Jason Castro and Willians Astudillo will continue to split time behind the plate in his absence.

Roberto Perez C | BOS
Indians' Roberto Perez: Exits with possible head injury
Perez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics to be evaluated for a head injury, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Perez went 0-for-2 with a strikeout prior to exiting after the fourth inning. Kevin Plawecki has taken over behind the plate for Cleveland.

James McCann C | ARI
White Sox's James McCann: Sits Tuesday
McCann is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Astros.
He sits for the third time in the last seven games. Welington Castillo will start behind the dish, hitting cleanup against righty Justin Verlander.

Luke Maile C | KC
Blue Jays' Luke Maile: Pops second homer
Maile went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.
The Jays only managed three hits off David Price and the Boston bullpen, and Maile's second-inning homer accounted for all of Toronto's offense on the afternoon. The backup catcher is slashing just .148/.193/.278 through 20 games with two home runs and four RBI, and with Danny Jansen's bat starting to come around, Maile's opportunities for playing time could shrink even further.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Not in lineup
Narvaez is not starting Monday against the Rangers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Narvaez has sat against the last five lefties the Mariners have faced. He doesn't have major platoon splits, posting a career 106 wRC+ against lefties to go with a 113 mark against righties, but the Mariners evidently feel the arrangement is a good way to balance playing time between Narvaez and fellow catcher Tom Murphy, who gets the call behind the plate Monday.
