Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Moreno's recent CT scan showed his fractured right index finger hasn't completely healed, and the catcher will likely need another couple weeks to recover before resuming full baseball activities, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

The hope was Moreno's scans would show enough improvement for him to resume baseball work, but that's not the case. He's been on the shelf since June 19 and remains on the 60-day injured list, which ensures he won't rejoin the Diamondbacks until at least mid-August. Jose Herrera and James McCann are likely to continue sharing the catching duties in Moreno's absence.

Bart is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Bart will be on the bench for Monday's series opener, but he may have worked his way back into a timeshare at catcher with Henry Davis. The two backstops have now alternated turns behind the plate for each of the Pirates' last eight games, drawing four starts apiece.

Torrens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

After starting behind the plate in each of the Mets' first three games out of the All-Star break, Torrens will get a breather as New York opens a three-game set with the Angels. After a productive month-long stint at Triple-A Syracuse, Francisco Alvarez was recalled Monday and will spell Torrens at catcher. With Torrens producing a .505 OPS since the beginning of July, he could be at risk of losing his grip as the Mets' preferred option at catcher if Alvarez can continue his hot-hitting ways in his return to the big club.

Stephenson is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Stephenson had started each of the previous four tilts (three at catcher, one at designated hitter), so he'll get a breather for Monday's series opener. Jose Trevino will step in at catcher and bat ninth for the Reds.

Amaya (oblique) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Thursday, MLB.com reports.

It's not clear which affiliate Amaya will be assigned to, but it will be his first game action since he went down with a left oblique strain in late May. Amaya is expected to require a week's worth of rehab games, setting him up to return at the beginning of August if all goes well. Upon his return, Amaya is likely to operate in a backup role behind starting catcher Carson Kelly.

The Mets recalled Alvarez from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

Alvarez will rejoin the Mets ahead of their three-game series against the Angels following a month-long stay in the minors. The Mets demoted the 23-year-old backstop on June 22 after he posted a weak .652 OPS while struggling defensively upon returning in late April from a season-opening stint on the injured list, but Alvarez settled back into a groove at the plate during his time in the International League. Over 19 games with the Triple-A club, Alvarez slashed .299/.397/.836 with 11 home runs. Though he brings more offensive upside to the table than Luis Torrens, Alvarez may not immediately usurp him as the Mets' top backstop. Manager Carlos Mendoza could instead opt for a timeshare behind the plate to keep both catchers relatively involved.

The Mets optioned Senger to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

With Francisco Alvarez making his return to the Mets' active roster after getting called up from Triple-A, the big club had no need for Senger as a third catcher behind Alvarez and Luis Torrens. Senger saw limited playing time during his month-long stint with the big club, appearing in eight games while going 3-for-18 at the dish.

The Phillies will promote Tait from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore this week, Jeff Kerr of CBS Philadelphia reports.

The talented catching prospect forced his way to Jersey Shore after batting .251 with 11 home runs, a 9.3 percent walk rate and a 19.3 percent strikeout rate over 332 plate appearances with Clearwater. Tait will be one of the youngest players in the South Atlantic League; he won't turn 19 years old until Aug. 27.

Atlanta selected Leon's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

With both Sean Murphy and Drake Baldwin playing regularly between the catcher and designated-hitter spots, the club has elected to add Leon to the roster as a third backstop. A 12-year major-league veteran, Leon last appeared in the big leagues in 2023.

Moreno will undergo a CT scan this week to check the healing of the hairline fracture in his right index finger, MLB.com reports.

If the scan shows that Moreno has made sufficient progress, he could be allowed to begin some baseball activities. Moreno was moved to the 60-day injured list over the weekend, making him ineligible to return to the Diamondbacks' 26-man active roster until mid-August.
