Collins started at first base and went 0-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Thursday's 7-1 win over Cleveland.

True to general manager Rick Hahn's word, the White Sox are giving Collins a fair shake in September. This was his third straight start with the first two coming at designated hitter. He's 2-for-7 with a triple, an RBI and four walks in the three games.

Grandal went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Grandal tied the game at 4-4 with a two-run homer off Jose Quintana. He also walked in the ninth, though the Brewers couldn't complete the comeback. On the season, the 30-year-old catcher has 23 home runs, 66 RBI and 60 runs scored while batting .249/.378/.466.

Contreras went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's 10-5 win over the Brewers.

Contreras returned from the injured list Tuesday, and the slugging catcher has hit the ground running. In two games, he's now 6-for-8 with two home runs to get to 21 long balls for the season. Contreras certainly looks healthy and ready to put up big numbers the rest of the way.

D'Arnaud was removed from Thursday's game due to neck and shoulder tightness, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

It sounds like d'Arnaud may have been dinged a few times behind the plate. Mike Zunino replaced him for the ninth inning. D'Arnaud was hitless prior to exiting and is now 1-for-15 in his last four games, with the one hit going for a homer.

Narvaez (back) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Astros.

Narvaez is still dealing with back spasms and will miss a third consecutive game as a result. Per Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle, the backstop is scheduled to take BP on Thursday and could be available off the bench if it goes well. Tom Murphy is once again starting behind the dish in his place.

Jansen is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rays.

Jansen is hitting just .208 with a .646 OPS through 99 games this season. He'll sit for a second straight game and the fourth time in six games as Reese McGuire picks up a start behind the dish Thursday.

Davis was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs were carrying four healthy catchers, so Davis probably benefits more from being at Triple-A for the Iowa Cubs' playoff run than to ride the bench in the majors. Once Iowa's season is over, he will likely head back up to the majors.

Garver (jaw) is starting at catcher and hitting sixth Thursday against the Red Sox.

Garver has been cleared to rejoin the lineup for Thursday's series finale after missing the past two games with a sore jaw, which he suffered after taking a foul tip to the mask Monday. Through 78 games this season, the backstop is slashing .273/.356/.618 with a career-high 26 home runs and 57 RBI.

Jackson was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett and placed on the 60-day injured list with a left knee sprain Thursday.

With less than a month left in the season, this effectively ends Jackson's 2019 campaign. The backstop spent most of the season with Gwinnett, slashing .229/.313/.533 with 28 home runs and a 34.2 percent strikeout rate in 85 games. Darren O'Day (forearm) was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Stassi is not starting Thursday against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Stassi will stick on the bench for a second straight game as the Angels continue to rotate between three catchers. Kevan Smith is starting behind the dish and hitting ninth in this one.
