Sosa isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Sosa's 0-for-3 performance Friday ended what had been a seven-game hitting streak. The Blue Jays will give him a break Saturday, providing Eloy Jimenez with an opportunity to work as the DH.

Loperfido (quadriceps) is not in the Astros' starting lineup against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Loperfido injured his right quad during Friday's series opener. He'll rest up Saturday in hopes that he is cleared to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale. Houston will instead start Yordan Alvarez, Taylor Trammell and Cam Smith in the outfield from left to right.

Alvarez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Cardinals.

Alvarez's solo shot off right-hander Kyle Leahy in the bottom of the third inning was Alvarez's eighth long ball of the season, matching Jordan Walker and Aaron Judge for the league lead. The lefty slugger's longest home run drought is three games this season. He also has six doubles on the year. Alvarez has started all 21 games to this point and is slashing .333/.479/.750 with the eight homers, 19 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and an 18:10 BB:K across 94 plate appearances. In addition to home runs, Alvarez also leads the majors in RBI and walks.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Pederson will take a seat for the second time in the series and has now hit the bench for all five of the Rangers' matchups with left-handed starting pitchers this season. Platoon mate Andrew McCutchen will replace Pederson in the lineup at designated hitter and will bat sixth.

Jimenez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.

After being called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday for his first big-league action since 2024, Jimenez served as Toronto's designated hitter in the team's ensuing two games and went 2-for-7 with a walk. Following the Blue Jays' acquisition of Lenyn Sosa from the White Sox earlier in the week, however, Jimenez will now hit the bench for the second straight game. Even with George Springer's (toe) recent move to the injured list leaving a regular lineup spot open, the Blue Jays may be content to rotate a number of players at DH rather than leaning exclusively on Jimenez.

Soler's suspension has been reduced to four games, and he will begin serving the ban during Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Soler had initially received a seven-game ban for his involvement in a brawl during the Angels' 7-2 loss to Atlanta on April 7. After getting the suspension reduced, Soler will be eligible to return for Sunday's series finale against the Padres. The Angels will likely mix and match at designated hitter over the next four games while Soler is unavailable.

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Yankees.

After Mike Trout and Jo Adell both went deep off Ryan Weathers in the top of the first inning, Soler hit a solo shot of his own to make it back-to-back-to-back homers for the Angels. It was Soler's fifth long ball of the young season and his fourth in the last seven games. In that span, Soler owns a 1.185 OPS with 10 RBI, seven runs scored and a 4:7 BB:K across 31 trips to the plate.

Buxton went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four runs scored in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Red Sox.

Buxton stayed hot at the plate, launching two homers that both traveled over 400 feet as part of a huge four-hit performance. His first came off Sonny Gray in the third inning on the first pitch of the frame, and he added another solo shot in the sixth. It was the 18th multi-homer game of Buxton's career and came one day after he hit his first long ball of the season. The center fielder now appears to be finding his power stroke, slashing .246/.306/.462 with three homers, four RBI and 15 runs scored on the year.

Kjerstad (hamstring) is running and participating in baseball activities, per MLB.com.

Kjerstad suffered a right hamstring strain during a March 19 Grapefruit League game, resulting in a stay on the injured list to open the season. The 27-year-old outfielder lacks a concrete timeline for a return to the field, though he'll likely need a minor-league rehab assignment before becoming an option to rejoin the Orioles.

Buxton went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 13-6 victory over Boston.

Buxton launched his first homer of the campaign with a 420-foot shot to straightaway center field in the fifth inning. In addition to being his first of the season, the blast marked his 85th career homer at Target Field, the most in ballpark history. It's been a slow start to 2026 for Buxton, who entered Monday's contest with a .531 OPS and just one RBI through his first 14 games, so he'll look to build on this performance and find his stride at the plate.
