  • Eloy Jimenez DH | BAL

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: First RBI of season

Jimenez went 2-for-5 with an RBI on Saturday against the Phillies.

Jimenez entered Saturday's game having gone 0-for-10 with three strikeouts and three walks since being activated from the injured list Monday. He delivered a pair of singles against the Phillies, with the latter driving in a run during a ninth-inning rally to mark his first RBI of the campaign. Jimenez is off to a miserable start through 29 plate appearances this season, as he has yet to record an extra-base hit and has only one run scored while hitting .154.

  • Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Slugs second homer

Yoshida went 3-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.

The 30-year-old outfielder took Mitch Keller deep in the sixth inning for Boston's final runs. Yoshida has only two homers on the season, but they've both come in his last five games. On the campaign, he's slashing .250/.325/.375 with nine runs and 10 RBI in 20 contests.

  • Kevin Smith DH | NYY

Yankees' Kevin Smith: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Yankees sent Smith outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

The Yankees DFA'd Smith on Thursday after claiming outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Dodgers, and the 27-year-old infielder will officially remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. Smith is slashing just .182/.282/.212 across 39 Triple-A plate appearances and is unlikely to return to New York barring a significant turnaround.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | BAL

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Gets breather against lefty

O'Hearn isn't in Baltimore's lineup for Saturday's game against Kansas City.

The left-handed bat of O'Hearn will sit down Saturday as the Royals send fellow lefty Cole Ragans to the mound. His absence will move Adley Rutschman into the DH spot while James McCann starts behind the plate and bats eighth.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Resting Saturday

Stanton isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay.

Stanton turned in an 0-for-4 performance at the plate during Friday's victory over the Rays, and he'll get a breather during Saturday's contest. Aaron Judge will take over as New York's designated hitter, allowing Trent Grisham to start in center field and bat sixth.

  • Brent Rooker DH | OAK

Athletics' Brent Rooker: Homers in return

Rooker went 1-for-2 with a solo home run during Friday's loss to Cleveland.

Rooker didn't draw a start in his first game since returning from the injured list, but he entered as a pinch hitter for Lawrence Butler in the sixth inning and hit a solo shot in the ninth - his third long ball of the season. The 29-year-old slugger hasn't quite been able to replicate the production he enjoyed during his breakout 2023 campaign, though he remains one of the lone bright spots in a relatively weak Oakland lineup.

  • Justin Turner 1B | SEA

Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Cracks homer in victory

Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's win over the Padres.

Turner opened the game's scoring with a 404-foot solo home run off Matt Waldron in the first inning. The 39-year-old veteran tacked on another RBI in the second inning via a single. Turner has looked quite comfortable with his new team, slashing .345/.429/.569 with two homers and 11 RBI over 70 plate appearances.

  • Brent Rooker DH | OAK

Athletics' Brent Rooker: Activated from injured list

Rooker (ribs) was activated from the 10-day injured list by the Athletics on Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Rooker wound up missing just the minimum 10 days while dealing with an injury to his ribcage area. The 29-year-old has popped a couple home runs in the early going this season but has just a .659 OPS and 16:1 K:BB across 31 plate appearances. Rooker is not in Friday's lineup at Cleveland in his first game back from the IL.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Smacks fifth homer

Alvarez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Wednesday against Atlanta.

Alvarez took lefty Max Fried deep in the first inning to tally his fifth homer of the season. He had been quiet with the bat in seven games prior, during which he tallied no extra-base hits and batted just .136. Overall, Alvarez's line looks quite similar to expectations, as he's maintained a .289 average and .526 slugging percentage across the first 88 plate appearances of the campaign.

  • Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Sitting in second straight

Yoshida is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The lefty-hitting Yoshida now finds himself out of the lineup for the second day in a row, with both absences coming against right-handed pitchers. While the Red Sox haven't indicated that Yoshida is dealing with an injury, the consecutive absences as Boston has played shorthanded in Cleveland with both Tyler O'Neill (forehead) and Rafael Devers (knee) missing time suggests the 30-year-old might be banged up to some degree. Even if the Red Sox don't provide an update on Yoshida following Thursday's game, fantasy managers will still want to keep tabs on his status heading into this weekend's series in Pittsburgh.
