  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Expected back Wednesday

Cabrera (knee) is expected to rejoin the starting lineup Wednesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Cabrera is out for a third straight game Tuesday, though he's set to take batting practice to test out the issue before hopefully returning to action Wednesday. There are no plans to shut the veteran slugger down. Cabrera is expected to see a specialist following the season, per McCosky, and while surgery doesn't appear to be an option, Cabrera expected to be given some sort of treatment plan.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Key homer in win

Choi went 2-for-4 with a double, a three-run home run and two runs overall in a win over the Red Sox on Monday.

Choi's 412-foot shot to center in the fourth with Austin Meadows and Travis d'Arnaud aboard put a significant dent into a 4-0 deficit. The Korean slugger is hitting just .214 in September, but he's remained a viable contributor with 14 walks and eight extra-base hits (out of 12 total), the latter helping lead to an impressive 12 RBI during the month.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Sits again Tuesday

Cabrera (knee) will sit Tuesday against the Twins.

Cabrera finds himself on the bench for the third straight game as he deals with his latest bout with knee soreness. Brandon Dixon will be the designated hitter in his absence.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Not starting Monday

Miller is not in the lineup Monday against Washington.

Miller hits the bench after starting four straight games in left field. Jose Pirela starts there Monday with lefty Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Nationals.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Power surge continues

Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Tigers.

Jimenez is wrapping up his rookie campaign with a flourish, as the 20-year-old is batting .388 with eight home runs and 25 RBI in his last 23 games. His long ball Sunday was his 30th of the season and places him behind only the Mets' Pete Alonso (50) for tops among all rookies.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Bangs out three hits

Martinez went 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs Sunday in the Red Sox's 7-4 win over the Rays.

After missing three games with a groin injury, Martinez returned to the lineup for the final two contests of the weekend and didn't take long to begin raking again. While Martinez hasn't reported any setbacks with the groin coming out of either of his back-to-back starts, the Red Sox may choose to exercise caution with his usage anyway over the season's final week with the team already eliminated from postseason contention.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Indians' Franmil Reyes: Goes deep in victory

Reyes went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

Reyes capped the scoring for the Indians with a round tripper to right field in the seventh inning. The home run was his second in four games since returning from a two-game absence Thursday. The 24-year-old is slashing .243/.307/.505 with 36 homers and 79 RBI in 145 games between San Diego and Cleveland this season.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Rakes four hits in win

Alvarez went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Sunday's 13-5 win over the Angels.

It was Alvarez's second four-hit performance this month, but oddly enough, he somehow didn't drive in a run Sunday. Still, he boosted his season OPS to 1.103 with 52 extra-base hits and 77 RBI over 351 plate appearances.

  • Nick Solak DH | SD

Rangers' Nick Solak: Hits bench amid skid

Solak is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Solak drilled a home run in Saturday's 12-3 loss, but it was his only hit of the day and left him in a 3-for-23 skid over his past six contests. The Rangers will give the rookie a day to clear his head, allowing Ronald Guzman to crack the lineup in the series finale.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Resting Sunday

Blackmon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Blackmon takes a seat in what likely amounts to routine maintenance following a string of seven straight starts. During that stretch, Blackmon went 8-for-25 with three home runs, three walks, a double and five RBI. Sam Hilliard replaces Blackmon in right field.
