  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Exits after getting hit in hand

Harper left Friday's game against the Mets after getting hit in the hand by a pitch, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harper appeared to be in pain right away after getting struck in the right hand by a pitch from Steven Matz, though he stayed in to run the bases before being replaced prior to the bottom half of the inning. The severity of the injury is not yet clear.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Remains out Friday

Dickerson (oblique) remains on the bench Friday against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Dickerson has been dealing with a sore oblique, though it's not clear whether that's the reason for his absence Friday. He likely would be sitting even if healthy against lefty Clayton Kershaw, especially because Jaylin Davis appears to be moving ahead of him on the depth chart, though it's Austin Slater who starts in right field on this occasion.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: On bench Friday

Belt will be on the bench Friday against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Belt will sit against lefty Clayton Kershaw. Aramis Garcia will start at first base.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

    Marlins' Harold Ramirez: Sits Friday

Ramirez is not in Friday's lineup against the Royals.

Ramirez is hitting .244 with three home runs and 13 strikeouts over his last 10 games. Magneuris Sierra will start in center field while Lewis Brinson shifts to right field.

  • Zack Collins C | CLE

White Sox's Zack Collins: Sitting Friday

Collins is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Collins started the last three games but will receive Friday off after going 2-for-8 with a triple, a run scored, an RBI and four walks. Welington Castillo will serve as the designated hitter in the series opener.

  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Athletics' Mark Canha: Drives in two during win

Canha went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, a bases-loaded walk and a run in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Canha hasn't been swinging quite as hot a bat recently as he did at one point in August, but he's still managed to reach safely in 20 consecutive games. The veteran doesn't have a multi-hit effort since Aug. 26 after generating seven in the nine games prior, yet he's still sporting a career-best .272/.394/.533 line across 409 plate appearances.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: On base four times in win

Carpenter went 2-for-3 with an RBI infield single, two walks and a run in a win over the Giants on Thursday.

Carpenter was all the way down in the No. 7 spot in the order, but that didn't stop him from turning in one of his more well-rounded outings. The veteran has shown slight improvement at the plate since the latter part of August, raising his average nine points across the last 11 games. However, his season line currently sits at .221/.332/.371, with all three figures qualifying as the lowest of his career outside of his initial seven-game big-league cup of coffee back in 2011.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Wallops walkoff home run

Brantley went 2-for-6 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's extra-inning victory over Seattle.

Brantley helped Houston overcome an early seven-run deficit and reach extra innings with a sacrifice fly that knotted the score in the eighth inning, then ended the game with a walkoff two-run homer in the 13th. The 32-year-old has thrived in his first year with the Astros, tying a career high with 20 long balls while slashing .324/.384/.524 in 570 plate appearances.

  • Ryan Goins DH | KC

White Sox's Ryan Goins: Starts in right field

Goins went 0-for-4 while batting leadoff in Thursday's 7-1 win over Cleveland.

Right field in the White Sox's lineup has been a revolving door for much of the season and even more so since Jon Jay (hip) landed on the injury list. After Daniel Palka made a couple of hitless starts there Tuesday and Wednesday, Goins got an opportunity. And with Leury Garcia getting a breather, he slotted in at leadoff. The White Sox have no shortage of mediocre options to play there for the rest of the season.

  • Nick Solak DH | SD

Rangers' Nick Solak: Hits second homer

Solak went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and a walk in the Rangers' 3-1 victory over the Orioles on Thursday.

The 24-year-old provided two out of his team's three runs for the game with one swing of the bat, mashing a seventh-inning two run shot off John Means. He's been impressive over his first 53 big-league at-bats, as he's compiled a .321/.429/.528 slash line with two homers, three doubles, a triple and seven RBI.
