  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Out of Sunday's lineup

Blackmon is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at Cincinnati, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Blackmon started the last seven contests -- including both games of Wednesday's twin bill -- so he'll head to the bench for the series finale. The veteran outfielder has a .414 average with four doubles and one home run in that stretch. Ian Desmond, Garrett Hampson and David Dahl comprise the Rockies' starting outfield Sunday.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Not starting Sunday

Winker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Rockies, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Winker started the last four contests and has an .883 OPS over 21 games in July, but he'll take a seat for the series finale. Josh VanMeter will start in left field and bat fifth in his stead.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Returns from IL

The White Sox reinstated Jimenez (elbow) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Jimenez suggested shortly before he was re-evaluated Saturday that he was a couple days away from returning from the IL, but the White Sox apparently felt satisfied enough with the condition of the rookie's bruised right elbow to bring him back before the weekend concluded. Chicago has yet to unveil its lineup for Sunday's series finale with Minnesota, but the team's decision to activate Jimenez suggests he'll likely be included in the starting nine.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Another XBH Saturday

Martinez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Yankees.

All five of Martinez's hits in the series have gone for extra bases. He has two doubles, one triple, two homers and five RBI in the first three games of the series. The 31-year-old outfielder/DH has hit safely in six straight, going 12-for-27 with seven extra-base hits and nine RBI.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Knocks 15th homer

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles.

It was the 15th long ball of the season for Ohtani but his first in 15 games since the All-Star break. That doesn't dampen what's been a solid year for the designated hitter, who holds a .293/.357/.533 slash line with 42 RBI and 34 runs scored in 68 games. He's also added eight stolen bases.

  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Athletics' Mark Canha: Pops 17th homer

Canha went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Rangers.

Canha opened the scoring with his blast in the second inning off Rangers starter Adrian Sampson. Canha also got on base when he was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning. The designated hitter has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, hitting .250 with two homers, five runs scored and five RBI in that span. He's batting .253/.383/.544 with 17 homers in 73 games this season, but he has seen consistent playing time throughout July.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Nearing return from IL

Jimenez (elbow) said he expects to return from the injured list in "a few days," James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Jimenez is on the cusp of a return after taking multiple rounds of batting practice and throwing to the bases from the outfield Friday. He's set to be reevaluated Saturday; if everything checks out OK, it sounds like Jimenez could be back for Tuesday's series opener against the Mets.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Padres' Franmil Reyes: Sitting again Saturday

Reyes is not in the lineup Saturday against the Giants.

According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, Reyes is a little banged up, which helps explain why he's out of the lineup for a second straight game Saturday. Francisco Mejia is starting in the outfield in this one. Reyes should be considered day-to-day.

  • Ryan Goins DH | KC

White Sox's Ryan Goins: Out of Saturday's lineup

Goins is not in Saturday's lineup against the Twins.

He started the last five games, hitting .250 with one home run, six strikeouts and two walks over that stretch. Jose Rondon will start at shortstop and hit sixth. With Tim Anderson (ankle) expected back in the coming days, Goins' run as a regular is coming to an end.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

    Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Sitting Saturday

Cabrera is out of the lineup Saturday against the Mariners.

Cabrera's day off appears to be routine as he tries to find a rhythm for the second half of the season. In 11 games since the All-Star break, the veteran has recorded a slash line of .091/.130/.114 with no home runs. Nicholas Castellanos will serve as the designated hitter, batting third.
