  • Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Blasts two homers

Vogelbach went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Rangers.

It's Vogelbach's second two-homer performance in the past week, though Wednesday's effort busted him out of an 0-for-12 slump during which he had seven strikeouts. The 26-year-old is slashing .233/.361/.511 with 25 home runs and 59 RBI this season.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Still out Wednesday

Buxton (concussion, wisdom teeth) is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Yankees, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

This was expected after he had his wisdom teeth removed Tuesday. The Twins say there will be an update on Buxton when they get to Chicago on Thursday.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Begins baseball activities

Jimenez (elbow) hit some flips and threw from 90 feet Wednesday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

He was capable of swinging a bat, but he's yet to progress to a full batting practice session. Jimenez is pain free and will probably need at least another week before he is ready to return to game action.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Racking up free passes

Turner went 0-for-2 with three walks and a run scored Tuesday in the Dodgers' 5-4 loss to the Angels.

Turner has only managed one hit over his last four starts, but he's drawn seven walks during that stretch to keep his on-base percentage afloat. The 34-year-old's .376 OBP remains roughly in line with what he's supplied over the past couple of seasons, but a downturn in his slugging percentage has limited him to an .841 OPS, his second-worst showing in the category since joining the Dodgers in 2014.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Dickerson is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Cubs.

Dickerson is hitting .455 with two home runs and just five strikeouts over his last 10 games (33 at-bats). Mike Yastrzemski will start in left field and hit sixth.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Lands on IL with hip injury

The Phillies placed Miller on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right hip flexor strain.

Miller likely picked up the injury at some point during Tuesday's 15-inning win over the Tigers, when he came off the bench late in the contest and made a pivotal defensive play to wipe out a potential go-ahead run by Detroit. The Phillies activated Sean Rodriguez (abdomen) from the IL in a corresponding move, and he'll essentially fill the utility role that Miller had occupied prior to getting hurt.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Receives day off

Harper is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Though the Phillies have the designated hitter spot available in Detroit, manager Gabe Kapler decided to give Harper a true day of rest following Tuesday's 3-2 win in 15 innings. Harper, who will bow out of the lineup for the first time since June 12, will be replaced in the outfield by Adam Haseley.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: On bench Wednesday

Cabrera is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies.

Cabrera sits after going 0-for-5 in Tuesday's 15-inning loss. He's hitting 3-for-36 since the All-Star break. Christin Stewart will serve as the designated hitter in his absence.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Out against lefty again

Choi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Choi and Nate Lowe will both duck out of the lineup for the third day in a row with the Red Sox bringing another lefty (David Price) to the bump. Travis d'Arnaud will receive a start at first base while Austin Meadows handles the designated hitter spot.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Swats sixth homer

Dickerson went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Cubs.

After sitting out two games with some mild tightness in his oblique, Dickerson returned to action and looked to be 100 percent. He's now slashing .351/.406/.691 through 37 games with six homers and 24 RBI.
