Yoshida left Saturday's game against the Pirates in the top of the third inning after sliding into second base on a double, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The 33-year-old slid head-first into second base after legging out a double and came up limping before being removed from the game. Officially, he exited with left hamstring tightness, per Ian Browne of MLB.com. Anthony Seigler pinch ran for Yoshida and will remain in the game as Boston's designated hitter.

Perez (elbow) will serve as the Royals' designated hitter and bat fourth Saturday against the Angels.

Perez sat out Friday's contest to recover from an elbow issue he picked up Wednesday, but he now seems to be feeling well enough to return to action. The veteran backstop has recorded a hit in all but two of the games he's played this month but still carries just a .628 OPS in August.

Springer isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Springer will grab a seat on the bench to begin Saturday's game after going 0-for-4 with a run scored and two strikeouts in Friday's series opener. Alejandro Kirk will move into the DH spot, affording Brandon Valenzuela a start behind the plate.

Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 10-7 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Alvarez got the Astros on the board with a solo shot off George Kirby, ending his longest stretch without a homer this season at 13 games. The slugger has still been productive despite lacking his usual pop, as he's now posted a .946 OPS with six RBI and seven runs scored in 12 August contests. He's slashing .323/.437/.626 with 36 homers, 88 RBI, 81 runs scored and one steal across 535 plate appearances, with a realistic shot at becoming baseball's first Triple Crown winner since Miguel Cabrera in 2012.

Eldridge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Rockies.

Eldridge's homer in the fourth inning briefly tied the game at 1-1. He has gone 4-for-19 with two homers and a 2:5 BB:K over his last five games. Eldridge's last multi-hit effort was Aug. 1 versus the Padres, but he continues to see steady playing time between first base and designated hitter. On the year, he's batting .246 with a .777 OPS, 13 homers, 30 RBI, 39 runs scored, 15 doubles and one stolen base over 79 contests.

Ohtani threw a bullpen session prior to Friday's game against the Brewers, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

It's Ohtani's first bullpen session in over three weeks, a positive step in his throwing progression as he continues to work through a knee injury as well as a right biceps issue. He hasn't pitched since July 3, but Ohtani could be available to pitch toward the tail end of the regular season and in the playoffs. The injuries haven't prevented Ohtani from serving as the Dodgers' designated hitter, and he's gone 14-for-47 (.298) with one steal, three home runs and seven RBI across 12 games in August.

Perez (elbow) isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Perez departed Wednesday's game due to an elbow injury and will now officially miss a start as he takes more time off to recover. Carter Jensen will start behind the plate while Perez sits, and Josh Rojas will serve as the Royals' designated hitter.

Nootbaar is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta.

The Diamondbacks have faced two lefties since the trade deadline and the left-handed-hitting Nootbaar has been out of the lineup both times. Tyler Locklear is in the designated hitter slot and Ryan Waldschmidt will play left field for Arizona.

Schwarber went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Twins.

Schwarber wasted no time making an impact in MLB's Field of Dreams game, leading off the night with a solo homer against Taj Bradley before taking the right-hander deep again for a two-run shot in the fourth inning. It marked his second multi-homer performance in his last five contests. After opening August in a 0-for-17 skid, Schwarber has quickly turned things around, going 11-for-30 (.367) with nine RBI over his last eight games. Through 117 contests this season, he's batting .250 with a .915 OPS and has slugged his way back atop the MLB leaderboard with 37 home runs.

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Thursday's 9-8 win over the White Sox.

Suarez connected for a two-run home run in the first inning and later plated runs on a sacrifice fly and a hit-by-pitch. The home run was his fourth over his last six games. Suarez owns a .205/.285/.462 slash line with 18 home runs and 48 RBI through 89 games.
