  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Out against lefty

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

The lefty-hitting Carpenter will hit the bench Wednesday while the Pirates bring southpaw Bailey Falter to the hill. With Carpenter taking a seat, Alec Burleson will get a day out of the outfield and serve as the Cardinals' designated hitter while Dylan Carlson steps in as St. Louis' starting right fielder.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Idle against southpaw

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

The lefty-hitting Manzardo will exit the lineup while the Reds bring southpaw Nick Lodolo to the bump. Gabriel Arias will receive a turn as the Guardians' designated hitter while Manzardo sits.

  • Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Hitting bench Wednesday

Yoshida is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Yoshida returned from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and started at designated hitter in Boston's 4-1 loss, going 0-for-2 with a walk. Though he should serve as Boston's primary DH now that he's healthy again, Yoshida will give way to Tyler O'Neill on Wednesday. O'Neill missed the Red Sox's previous three games and is being eased back into the lineup in a non-defensive role, but he should eventually see regular starts in the corner outfield to keep the DH spot open for Yoshida.

  • Padres' David Peralta: On bench again Wednesday

Peralta is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Manny Machado remains limited to designated hitter duties after missing out on four straight starts last week due to a hip flexor strain, so the Padres won't have room in the lineup for Peralta for the third contest in a row. Once Machado is cleared to play regularly at third base again, Peralta will likely form a platoon at designated hitter with Donovan Solano.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Mashes 16th homer

Stanton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 10-1 win against Kansas City.

Stanton produced an RBI on a fielder's choice in the first inning and added a 446-foot solo blast in the seventh. It was a positive bounce-back after the slugger went 0-for-14 with seven strikeouts during the weekend's three-game series versus the Dodgers. Stanton's .229 batting average on the season isn't ideal, but he's tied for ninth in the league with 16 homers and has added 38 RBI along with 29 runs through 245 plate appearances.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Heading to bench Wednesday

Turner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Turner will head to the bench for the second time in the series, opening up the designated-hitter spot for Daniel Vogelbach in the finale. Though he's begun to heat up in June with a .400 on-base percentage and .407 slugging percentage, Turner is still maintaining a .676 OPS on the season, the worst mark of his career since he became an everyday player in the big leagues.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Homers and steals bag in win

Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer, two walks, a steal and three runs scored in Tuesday's 15-2 win over the Rangers. He also reached via a hit by pitch.

Ohtani kickstarted a four-homer sixth inning by the Dodgers with a two-run blast off Grant Anderson. He also tallied his 15th steal of the year, becoming the first player in baseball this season to tally 15 home runs and 15 steals. Ohtani continues to be one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball and is now slashing .312/.384/.581 with 16 homers, 43 RBI, 50 runs and a 30:62 BB:K in 294 plate appearances.

  • Jair Camargo C | ATL

Twins' Jair Camargo: Healthy again for Triple-A club

Triple-A St. Paul reinstated Camargo (forearm) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Camargo started at catcher in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Louisville, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. The 24-year-old hadn't played for St. Paul since April 27 due to a right forearm strain but got the green light to rejoin the Triple-A club after going 9-for-26 with a home run, two doubles and three walks over seven rehab games between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Fort Myers.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Out against left-hander

Larnach isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rockies.

Southpaw Austin Gomber is starting for the Rockies, so the left-handed-hitting Larnach will begin Wednesday's game on the bench. Willi Castro will occupy left field and Royce Lewis will serve as the Twins' designated hitter while Larnach and fellow lefty hitter Alex Kirilloff exit the lineup.

  • Kyle Schwarber LF | PHI

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Goes yard twice in win

Schwarber went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

The veteran slugger led off the game with a deep blast to right field off Kutter Crawford, then did it again to lead off the fifth. Schwarber's June exploits have become legendary -- per Paul Casella of MLB.com, he's averaging one homer every 10.4 at-bats in his career during the month, the best pace in MLB history ahead of Babe Ruth's 10.6. Schwarber's current groove extends back to late May, and over his last 12 games he's slashing .277/.382/.532 with four long balls and seven RBI.
